Whats the cheapest insurance company for the over 60s?

Answers: Insurance for what? Life, health, auto, home, long-term care? I recommend speaking with an insurance broker. Brokers work with several insurance companies and can find the best deal for you. They usually handle more than one type of insurance. To find a broker in your area, visit one or more of these sites and fill out a form requesting a quote: http://www.lifeinsurancewiz.com http://www.homeownerswiz.com http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com A broker in your area who will contact you. Good luck!
What kind of insurance?

If it's life, my company, Primerica, is very competitve. Look in your Yellow Pages for a representative. We do only level term insurance, no cash value at all.

But, let me make this point -- if you're retired, and have control of all your finances (money has been rolled from a 401K to your own IRA), no debts (house and cars paid for), you probably don't *need* life insurance. (Ain't gonna hear *that* from State Farm!)
Typically, insurance rates will vary from State to State and can even vary by ZIPCODE! It also will depend on the type of car/truck, coverages, limits of liability, and driving record. Some companies run credit scores and MOST run a motor vehicle report and CLUE (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) report to see about undisclosed accident involvement.

The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Don't go across town, or to some other city - look for someone CLOSE. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies.

An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can.

In my agency, we have companies that do NOT run a credit score and welcome drivers with "less than perfect" driving records.

Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you will find some impersonal computer user with a script to work from and you won't be able to talk with the same person every time you have a problem!

If you choose NOT to go with a local independent, you might look at the program that AARP offers that is underwritten by The Hartford. It seems to be fairly competitive at times.

Good luck, drive RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps!
Hey,

I'm an underwriter and one of my jobs is checking out any competition that my company might have.

We underwrite for an over 50's policy and so I know a bit about what's good and what's not.

Try these (in no particular order except A-Z):
Age Concern
Castle Cover
Intune (Help the Aged)
RIAS
Saga

They are all over 50 specialists and deal with both home and motor insurance. Depends on whether you want a top notch product and are willing to pay a bit extra or if you're just looking for the cheapest.

If someone dies.....?

Answers: depends...is the car surrounded by their name one and only? when my husband passed he had a truck surrounded by his name single and had bought it since we were married. the sandbank tried to tell me i be responsible for paying for it. i told them i was not and they better consult near their atyns. they did and i was right. i turned the truck into them and they sold it (at a loss) and wrote past its sell-by date the rest. it has never have an adverse affect on my credit.
If someone dies, then his/her assets requests to be closed out and distributed among the surviving members of his ethnic group. As part of this process, any debt he still owes get paid first.

If within aren't enough to remuneration off the debt, if the debt be secured (for example by a car), then they pilfer the car. If the debts wasn't secured (for example, credit cards), the debt get written off.
The debt must be salaried out of the estate's assets. If you are the executrix, consult an estate lawyer.
