Well, it sounds like you have need of to contact some of your people from your years of experience surrounded by commercial & residential insurance, and ask them which outside adjusting firms are popular surrounded by your area. Then stir talk to those outside adjust firms. You can also see if anyone has an 'in' next to carriers near claims offices within your area, and see if you can carry in that process.
It's very, unbelievably, very tough to break into what you want to do. MOST company adjusters get recruit straight out of college, and trained in adjust by the carrier.
I am not sure where on earth you live, but go to Liberty Mutual's website. Liberty is an excellent company to work for. Great benefits and superb training. I worked for them for 20 years as a Claims adjuster after Team Manager. They do usually require at least a level from a four year college. If you do not have a amount, consider a more entry level position such as a claims representative. They toy with the property damage and collision loss. Some knob the minor bodily injury claims too.
