If you attain married out of state, can your parents insurance drop you.?
Is this true? I was not competent to find anything on it, and I doubt it is true. I would like to try though.Answers: Once you're married, your parents' insurance drops you.
But if you're pregnant, your parents' insurance will NOT cover your child. Which means, if you want coverage for the tot, you're better off mortal married and added to your husband's policy BEFORE the baby is born. Because what if something's wrong next to the baby? Even if it's something little approaching jaundice, that requires an extra couple days in the hospital - that's $1200 a time that YOU PAY.
If your parents' insurance only covers unmarried children who are minors, later getting married in any State would jeopardize your coverage status. Whether they would discover it formerly paying a claim or not, I don't know, but in some cases false representations can exterminate coverage for everyone under a policy.
Good luck to you, and congratulations on your imminent marriage.
