Where is a not detrimental place to hold on to central papers close to energy insurance policies, your will etc.?

I read that you shouldn't keep these surrounded by a safe deposit box but the article didn't speak why.

Answers: Request your bank for sanctuary deposit box. Some banks will hand over you one for free, while others want a small fee.

But hold a photocopy of all those documents somewhere surrounded by your house or place of work (as long as it is secured).

Then tell someone you trust -- e.g. your legal representative, spouse or child -- where you hold on to them and the keys to these safekeeping boxes. You don't want a situation when you die and those you left bringing up the rear will be scrambling adjectives over your place looking for those documents
Scan all your noteworthy paper documents and hold on to the resultant images on a USB flash drive somewhere past the worst, like your lockable desk drawer at work or at a relatives house.
Encrypt the information if you want.
Now you are protected against theft, fire, losing your sheltered key, etc for the documents.
You do not want your Will (Last Will and Testament) within a safe deposit box. When you die, the mound seals the sheltered deposit box and the bank later requires an expensive court order to break open it.

A home safe or fire box is a virtuous choice.

Ask your attorney for other choices.

By all technique tell someone (spouse, children, executor) where on earth to find these documents.
Ah, well, that's because if you DIE, how is whoever going to be capable of get at your will and time insurance policy? FIRST your estate has to budge through probate court, THEN an executor is assigned, THEN that executor - not the one you named - get to get access to the secure deposit box and will.

The process to GET to those papers is extremely difficult, and expensive. That's why you shouldn't keep them in attendance.

We actually enjoy a file within our home, called "If MB and (DH) are both inert, look here". And I've told my parents and two siblings about the profile. It lists energy insurance policies, bank accounts, retirement accounts, holds our wills, and guardianship wishes for our kids. There's a copy at DH's organization, if we die in a fire.
Bank safe and sound deposit box.

This way...if your house burns down within a fire the documents are safe. Just gross sure someone in your loved ones knows almost it.

You are not going to get a place much safer than a wall. A bank have much better security than most private homes.

The single down side - is the limited hours that you enjoy access to the safe deposit box. You enjoy to go during guard hours.

Along with insurance policies - it's also a fitting idea to hang on to car titles, territory deeds, heirloom jewelry and other papers in it.

I handle a claim where someone have a 700 lb fireproof safe stolen from their home while they be gone. The safe be later found near the bottom of it cut out. You would think 700lbs would be a bit unhealthy to steal...but the thief...stole the property owner's vehicle - hooked a tie up to the safe and the truck and pulled the nontoxic right out of the house. The damage to the home supported that. When the sheltered was recovered - adjectives the contents were missing.

What volume of the US Auto insurance bazaar is sold "direct"? e.g. internet, phone, mail(not via local agents)

The Auto insurance market have historically sold policies via local agents: either "independent" agents (e.g. they deal in several brands) or "captive" agents(e.g. the sell lone one brand). There has be a great deal of medium focus on growth in the volume of policies sold via the internet (with no agent involvement) or via the phone to a telephone call center. Insurance providers GEICO and Progessive are leaders in this method.

I am looking for actual information on what was sold within a recent year (2005, 2006, or 2007) using these direct methods, for the entire auto insurance industry.
-$ volume of policies sold
-volume of policies sold
-% of policies sold

Answers: Someone in the world have the information your looking for, unfortunatly It's going to cost you some $$ to get it.

Groups approaching PCI, NAIC & III have inhabitants who gather insurance filings from adjectives fifty states and create reports. But unless you're a member of their firm or pay for the reports, you'll own to gather bits and pieces from a mixture of places like medium reports: http://www.iii.org/media/facts/statsbyis...

From raw facts I've seen, direct writers narrative for around 20% of the personal auto insurance market. However a significant % of premium written by Progressive & GEICO (the #3 and #4 largest personal auto insurers) are written though their agency force.

Good luck contained by your search.
