Insurance Questions and Answers

Can a personal trainer receive payments from a clients insurance for sessions?

Answers: There's no law against it. But I can't figure out how in the world it would ever be covered.
Most health insurance companies do not cover physical trainers.

An auto insurance company will not cover the cost of a physical trainer b/c this is not medical care. So if you are giving physical training to someone who claims to need it for injuries sustained in a car accident - that will not be covered.
I think there are two questions here. One: Can a personal trainer receive payments from a clients insurance for sessions. the answer is Of Course. You can receive payments from anyone.

The second questions is will a clients insurance pay a personal trainer, and the answer to that is What are the rules of the insurance company. That is what services will they pay for. If they pay of course you can receive the payment.

HSA - Company Changed and No Announcement Made?

For months my employer has talk about switching to a Health Savings Account form of insurance. Last week a current card came surrounded by the mail showing the plan have been switched as of a few weeks ago. No announcement have been made from the HR department...we weren't given any option to opt-out or anything. The deductible is $3000. Is this the normal procedure for switching plans? I lately got meds ...a couple of days beforehand the card came...and made the co-pay lower than the old plan as instructed by the pharmacy. Now what?

Answers: First, what the employer designed was an HDHP, which is a type of insurance plan that (1) have a high deductible and (2) make you eligible for an HSA. An HSA is not an insurance plan, does not have a deductible, and is not what you hold. The two are widely confused.

Second, you will probably have to recompense the entire cost of that prescription, if the old plan be no longer in effect, since it is smaller number than the deductible of the new plan.

Third, immediately that you have an HDHP, if you enjoy no other health insurance, you should win an HSA, as this will allow you to avoid taxes on a large amount of money and use it then to pay the deductible on your adjectives medicines (or other medical costs).
An HSA is NOT insurance. And it doesn't enjoy a deductible.

So I'm guessing, he's got an insurance policy beside a $3K deductible, AND an HSA. Two different things. The HSA is intended to pay the deductible.

Now you're going to enjoy to wait for adjectives the paperwork to catch up.
