Health insurance and vehicle insurance within U.S.?
Hi,I have hear that in U.S. getting vigour insurance and your vehicle insurance is mandatory and not your option/choice.
Is that true? If yes, what is the rationale behind management enforcing this on citizens?

Answers: no its not true. that canon is state by state. some states require vehicle insurance bc if you get surrounded by an accident and its your breakdown, your insurance company will pay to fix the other motor. imagine if someone hit you and dilapidated your car but didnt own money to fix it.
some states require health insurance bc if someone become very sick, and cant afford to payment their medical bills, then the state ends up losing money

We are buying a 1995 mobile home (14X70). Does anyone have any idea how much insurance would be in Alabama?
Answers: I don't recall how much my mom's insurance was, she passed away last spring, here in California. But the insurance was pretty cheap.
BUT if you ever sell, do NOT let a Mobile Home "broker" sell your home for you. In California, if it's on a spot of land you rent, you can sell it like a car, not a house! I did that and only paid $35 to the "DMV" of Mobile Homes (a special office for them) . A broker in the area wanted to charge me an $8000 flat fee, regardless of how much I sold it for! A realtor would have only charged 3-6% which would still have been only a fraction of this rip-off person.
Bottom line - Don't let anyone rip you off. Here in California, Mobile Homes are virtually the same as a car. The yearly fees were very cheap and the insurance was pretty cheap too. But they are not made as well as a house so I'd get really good coverage!
