Starting a rental company, what benevolent of insurance and where on earth? Canada.?
I am looking to start a rental company for film equipment. However I am not sure what features of insurance I need to protect my self against fraud(Most each day rental packages are worth over $10,000)Does anyone know what kind of insurance will protect me against fraud, and where on earth I can get it?
Thanks!
Answers: You can purchase a Commercial policy that contains a Property Floater to cover rental to Third Parties, however a standard exclusion beneath any policy is loss caused "by any dishonest or criminal stroke on the part of the Insured, any other gathering of interest, agents of the Insured, or any person to whom the property may be entrusted (except for bailees for hire)." People who are renting the show equipment would be considered "...any person to whom the property may be entrusted...". Some policy wordings will articulate "...by misappropriation, secretion, conversion, infidelity or any dishonest act on the cog of the Insured or any other party of interest, workers or agents of the Insured, or any person to whom the property may be entrusted (except bailees for hire);" which pretty much say the same article. The only process you can protect yourself in this grip is to try and find a broker who can negotiate with an insurer to hold the portion of the exclusion that says "...or any human being to whom the property may be entrusted..." removed, or to endorse the policy to include coverage for criminal or dishonest act by people renting the property. This will be tricky even for an experienced broker. You should be prepared for the reality that if they can find an insurer willing to do this they insurer will require an more premium for this accomodation, which may be quite substantial
Which insurance is better - United or Blue Cross/Blue Shield?
Both are the same surrounded by terms of in-network services except that United solely pays for 90% of hospital care and BC/BS pays 100%. However, my biggest concern is customer service and also the network of doctors. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!Answers: I never have a problem with United - they covered EVERYTHING. A doctor friend of mine said they don't close to them cause they don't wage well...Humana sucks. No direction on Blue Cross (yet) - our new provider...
I give attention to Blue Cross/Blue Shield has the best grating and customer service. I call insurance carrier all light of day and Blue Cross/Blue Shield always answers me the fastest. Also, most doctors clutch them.
Bank not insured?
I just notice that my bank statements utter that the bank is not FDIC insured. Is this average? What is the danger to my money if it go out of business?Answers: Savings, checking deposits & CDs are FDIC (there is a different one for credit unions but same idea) insured. Investments & insurance products are NOT FDIC insured. If you enjoy an investment, annuity, etc with your edge, that item is not insured, I am sure the bank is insured for the deposits. You invest at your own risk.
If you are unsure, telephone call the bank & own them explain.
When you open an acct. at a wall, aal money in that wall are protected up to 100K. Anything over that is not protected. So, if you own a 150K in one hill, take out 50k budge to another bank and open out up an account near 50k. Any interest you get from the 100k put into the 50k til 100k reach there and sympathetic another one- totally different bank for the second and third.
