Answers: Take WHAT form insurance for six months? Cobra?? The obvious con is, you enjoy to pay out of pocket, the full premium plus 2%. AND, if something happen while you're gone, you only hold one year of Cobra left afterwards.
Take a break. Take the compensation that you are entitled to. There is no con. It's adjectives pro!

Health insurance denial for treatment and "self-funded" plan rules?

My doctor tried to get preauthorization for treating a medical condition of mine more than nine months ago. My insurance stubbornly denied it time after time after time. Between these ?time after time? period, the requests were lost contained by the mail (if you believe that), papers be ?misplaced? by them, and there be delays because of practically every little point. Eventually, my case go to an external review board that ruled in my favor, over-turning the plans denial; the insurance have to pay for my treatment presently. This ruling in my favor come just end week, the same week that my coverage next to this health plan done as a result of my COBRA continuation coverage expiring. I believe my insurance should still have to salary for the treatment, because I would have have the treatments months ago, when I was covered, if it weren?t for the insurances negligence and incompetence.

Answers: Many insurance companies will deny a claim simply to take home you go away. In a self funded situation it may be that the employer needed to stall until your COBRA ran out. My suggestion is that you contact an attorney about this. You have suffered needlessly for too long and the company have successfully kept your claim at bay. They enjoy benefited by keeping their contributions to the fund at a minimum. This is why many self funded companies appear to have a much younger set of organization as well. Younger population usually have much smaller number need of serious strength coverage.

Good Luck.
It doesn't work that way. If you would hold had the treatment the months ago, very soon it would cover it. If you wait until the coverage expires, they're REALLY stale the hook.

If you need treatment - you acquire the treatment, and worry nearly getting the insurance company to pay for it latter. If you can wait 18 months, you can keep on another couple years. If you needed it then, you should hold gotten it then.

I'm sorry.

You could ask the insurance department or the external review board to create them cover you, but I don't think you'll win this one. If it WAS medically obligatory, it should have be done already.
Nope, doesn't work that way.

Your insurance company covers charges that are incurred on date when your policy is valid. So, if you had in reality had the service done while you be waiting for the decision to be overturned, consequently the insurer would now hold to pay your doctors for it and/or reimburse you.

On the bright side, you can use adjectives of that documentation to demonstrate to your next insurer that they should cover the services.

You can't force the insurer to pay cheque for something that happened after your coverage be terminated, unfortunately.

Since you mentioned that your plan is self-funded, I'll point out that there's not point contained by complaining to the Department of Insurance in your state...the Department of Insurance doesn't govern self-funded plans. You'd hold to file an ERISA complaint through the federal rule.

My robustness insurance insurance from work is refuse to reward on a claim. What should I do?

I am in Calif. I am working at like work place, but the employer recently changed insurance carrier. The doctor filed the paperwork prompt (2 years ago). The insurance co. stalled on paying bc they said I needed to fill out a questionnaire confirming that I did not own any other insurance. I filled out the questionnaire and even followed up next to a phone call. The insurance co. in a minute says that they hold no record of my questionnaire and that they don't hold on to records of my phone call to them for more than 4-6 months so now, they claim they own no records of the phone up. I even wrote down the name of the ppl I spoke near but the company's calls are handle in India and the Philippines and the name don't seem to anticipate anything to that co. (they cannot locate the employees even if you own their first names). The insurance co. now say that the account is "closed", the wall acct is "closed" and that they cannot consider the claim for payment. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Answers: What really is interesting is that consumers are putting up next to this type of thing. Call the Board of Insurance, and ask for the consumer hotline. They may/may not be capable of help, if they cannot.. Make a expense schedule or arrangment next to the hospital/ provider, they may negotiate a lower price because if they send you to collection they will one and only get 30.cents on the dollar (at the most).

LET THIS BE A LESSON TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN AMERICA WHO HAS INSURANCE:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: FIND OUT...
WHERE YOUR CLAIMS ARE BEING HANDLED.. - If they are using a company outside of America India ET, you might want to revision companies!!...Same thing near your Broker/ Agent.. FIND OUT IF THEY EVEN IN THE STATE YOUDO, I ADVICE EVERYONE TO USE AN AGENT YOU CAN DRIVE TO. IF YOUR COMPANY HAD USED A LOCAL AGENT- HE/SHE WOULD OF HANDLED THAT CLAIM- IF YOUR AGENT/BROKER IS OUT OF STATE - FIRE THEM, AND HIRE A LOCAL ONE, WHO HANDLES CLAIMS.. GUESS WHAT- THAT IS THEIR JOB. THEY DON'T GET PAID TO LOOK PRETTY. THESE GUYS MAKE GOOD MONEY, USE THEM.
You need to database a complaint with your state insurance commissioner, including the contact you've have - even if the insurance company doesn't have a dictation of it - and a copy of their declination.

However, you've let this travel SO long, it really MIGHT be too late. Usually you hold 6 months from the last declination, and you inevitability to follow up on it pretty tightly.
You should go for a proper program near an expert's help for a better guidance. Check out here for some useful info and tips.http://insurance.online-assistant.info/h...
