US Medical bill problem for UK holidaymaker?
Whilst on holiday in New York my wife suffered a tremor. My holiday insurance company have turned down my claim as they say-so it is a pre-existing medical condition. I think the bill will be around $65,000 which I can no-way afford. If I am forced to recompense, I will lose everything, my home, my car and my business. Is here any way that I may avoid the bill. I own heard from some sources that hospital may write sour the debt as I live in the UK and it would be tremendously difficult for them to chase me for the payment. Any answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.Answers: they will write stale the bill because they have no instrument of enforcing it so dont verbs your home and your possessions are safe.
you hold been informed correctly stop worrying you dont owe nobody a penny within the USA they cannot claim it anyway
and dont call them and give to pay cold-shoulder all requests for compensation beleieve me ignore the lot you are completely safe and sound
If it is an unreported pre-existing medical condition then I'm afraid your insurers are correct. If you informed your insurers of a pre-existing medical condition after they should've specifically informed you whether the medical condition was excluded or that it could be covered. Either method it is far too late to read the small print one and only when a claim arises. You should have be sure of what your insurance covered before you travelled. I do sympathise next to your circumstances but I'm afraid we live in the authentic world and not in an just what the doctor ordered world.
Is it fraudulent to set up a shell company to complete insurance work, within decree to receive replacement appeal?
We are receiving compensation for a fire at a commercial property. It doesn't include depreciation, so contained by order to report for the replacement value, we enjoy been advise to set up a fictitious company that will bill the insurance company, we will receive the full replacement value, and won't enjoy to do the full scope of work. Is this decriminalized?Answers: This could get you some serious lock away time...
Insurance companies have hear all of this until that time.
It won't be hard for them to find out that this company be just created and the trail backbone to you will be a short path.
Attorney's fees and the resembling would make anything you gain look like lunch money.
I would basically take what you are offered and move the fraudlent stuff alone.
Insurance companies have lawyer on staff who do nothing but check out for this kind of article
and if you are caught Lord help you!
Smells fishy!! Wouldn't touch it beside a 10 ft. pole. That has insurance fraud written adjectives over it!

I'm also sorry that your wife had a key seizure ($65000 is an MRI, CT Scan, and next some).
UK and US are both very modern countries next to good diplomatic relations. It will not be that complicated for a collection agency to find you. I personally judge your best bet is to negotiate a lower price with the hospital and set up a payoff plan that you can afford. You should also get a UK judgment, perhaps from a collections agency.
