When laid off..how long does health insurance continue (end of the month?)?
Answers: Usually it will continue to the end of the month, but not every company and policy is set up that way. Some cancel the insurance the day you're laid off. You'll need to check with your HR department.
Contrary to the above answer, not every company is required by law to offer COBRA. If your company has fewer than 20 employees covered then they don't have to offer COBRA. If they do, you have 63 days to accept the policy but you'll have to pay the premiums back to day one. COBRA will last 18 months in most cases.
Depends on how the plan was set up by your employer. It could be until the end of the month, or it could be until the day after you're fired.
Most employers will be required to offer you Cobra coverage, that will let you pay to continue the same coverage, out of pocket, for an additional 18 months.
IAM LOOKING FOR A GOOD INSURANCE COMPANY FOR CHildren?
Answers: Life insurance for children is a major ripoff.
But if you're adamant that you want to throw your money away, your local, independent agent is the best guy to set you up with a policy.
Many people buy life insurance for their children. As much as we don't want to think about it, even fairly normal funerals can cost $10K to $20K US, and then most normal grieving parents really can't be productive for a certain period while family and psychological issues are worked out. I usually recommend a minimum of $50K for children.
Just about any company will do and the coverage is very inexpensive. Term is very cheap, but you could buy a whole life plan if you want to use it as a way to build up tax-free savings for college.
Some states and companies do limit what you can buy for your children, however, so look around. You can shop at places like www.ehealthinsurance.com, but I suggest stopping by a trusted local agent's office to actually buy something. Also, a local agent can send you an internet link, and then guide you through the sign-up process over the phone.
I do not agree with the posters that tell you life insurance for children is a rip off. Obviously these people have never had to bury a child. I have had many clients bury children. One from a baseball accident and many from auto accidents. Of course I think it is in pretty poor taste to buy a large life policy on a child unless it's a single premium or paid up policy that the child can have for later in life when he or she has a family. You can go to my company's website and get a quote. http://www.lvhealthins.com Our life agents are great in working with child and family policies. If you are just looking for burial life you should investigate a small whole life policy.
How much does a breast reduction cost? If it's needed for my back shouldn't the insurance company pay for it?
Answers: Insurance will cover it if you complain of back pain and other health issues. My insurance covered mine 100% ($8,000) in Northern Virginia.
you have to read the policy to know what is covered or isn't.
they'll argue that the proposed procedure is cosmetic in nature and therefore not covered, so you'll need to get your proofs in apple pie order AND get pre-approval or they'll pay nothing.
after they get really insistent on not covered and if you think you still have a case, complain to your state insurance commissioner's office.
Hey I know what you mean.I got my first bra at 9yrs old,by the time I was 12 I was a 34 c.Now I am 38DDD.My back curved in close to the tail bone more than it should be.That was because I tried to compensate the weight in the front. Now my neck, shoulders and back hurt from it.I'm just too scared to get the reduction.I do think the insurance com.does pay if it is for health reasons.Good Luckā„
