Disability within nursing home?
My father is in a nursing home & is on medicaid. The nursing home have already filed for social payment disability for him so I was wondering how long it typically take for him to start getting money? I know he will be aproved. Also, I heard that the nursing home will lug all his disability hindmost pay for "historic rent" is this true? Is there any course we can get around this because he have no money & needs so much stuff that I cant afford any. If we tell the nursing home that he owes money to us are they obligated to pay cheque us? I only enunciate that because I would rather them endow with me the money he "owes" so I can buy him stuff he needs.appreciation to any and all answers!!Answers: According to my sister, the majority of SSDI claims - even a adjectives bunch of valid ones - are denied out of hand, and you hold to fight, sometimes for years - to find approved. If he DOES get approved, plan on at tiniest six months.
Any SSDI payments he gets are attachable by MEDICAID, and unsurprisingly, the nursing home is entitled to payment for services rendered, also.
You're not going to be capable of get your hand on this money. Sorry.
the nursing home will be ahead of you in the strip for money on this.
not to feel awful nearly it though -- Medicaid gets it put money on from the home if SSI comes through. government regs prevent double dipping by perfectionism homes.
The nursing home will suck him dry. But they will not charge more than he has. Your best bet is too other be around nearby to check on him and look in him. That is all he requirements. You can go online and find things to look for when visit that may signal some neglect. If you do return with a lawyer.
