Health Insurance Problem - Filing complaint at CA Dept of Insurance would be impressive agency?
My sutdent health insurance denied claims, because my different husband's insurace. They are saying my student form insuracne is not covering when I am listed beneath my husband's health insurance..My doctors and hospitals be under "my" insurance, not below my new husbands. My husband re-claimed thru his insurance, but be also denied. Which place do I need to turn first? Should I hire a lawyer? Or folder a complaint at Department of Insurance (California)? I am worrying the state agency is so~ slow, and miss right timing to fight against. Anyone have experience with file a complaint thru state agency, and get it resolved? How long does it bear to start their investigation?Answers: The first question you involve to answer is whose birthday falls first in the year? Yours or your husband's? (It does not concern who is older, newly which month you both were born surrounded by ) Whichever one of you has the first birthday within the year, that is the primary plan. Once you integer out which plan is primary, make sure they know that they are primary and the other plan know it is secondary.
A comparison to whats already out at hand is good too..

All the best to you.
There is an appeal process outlined surrounded by your coverage booklet. Basically, keep appealing this fund to them, in writing, and swing on to your documentation. This will be much faster than attempting a DOI appeal, which could take months and obtain you nowhere. My experience is that lawyers charge lots of money and also are not effective.
Insurance that you buy for yourself should be primary, but insurance is a contract, so check the booklet and read exactly what it says. See if they hold any justification, contractually, contained by taking this position, and argue your point with them contractually.
Well, sure I've file a complaint with my state agency and enjoy gotten it resolved.
But what you need to do is appeal the denial to your holder, in writing. INclude a copy of the denial from HIS insurance company. Then if you acquire a second denial, send copies of adjectives the denials to your state insurance commissioner with a dispatch of complaint.
The timeframe on this is pretty quick once you write to your insurance commissioner - both insurance companies hold 30 days to respond or face cloying, heavy fines (like $1,000 a day), so they usually respond pretty darned prompt.
Sounds like the two insurances are respectively claiming the other one is primary payer. Have you first used the appeal process with your insurers?
How will universial health affect the insurance industry?
Answers: bah, they won't go bankrupt.
It won't affect much at all, but it WILL increase profitability.
Just like in the countries with universal health care (aka, government medicine) the people that CAN afford private insurance, will buy it, and then THEY will have a higher level of coverage with no lines.
Did you know that in CANADA, you CAN buy private insurance? Or that having a private doctor in Europe is a status symbol? Because then you don't have a 3 month wait to get in?
There really won't be much of a change, besides increased profitability, as people with serious health conditions will likely migrate to the government (aka, taxpayer funded) program, and the average health on the private policy will be better. Hmm. Which will probably lead to a decrease in pricing, as claims go down.
Hopefully kill it. They kill people all the time by denying them to death.
Seriously though, I don't think insurance will be able to survive if the government is already providing health care for free.
Most of the large health insurance companies will probably get government contracts and be responsible for dispensing health care funds.
That will be awesome!
Hopefully shut them down, somewhere I remember reading that years ago they put out 70+ cents on a dollar they took in, now it's said they put out less than 50 cents....and they still are finding ways to "cut costs"
When an HMO declines payment for an ambulance because the patient did not get authorization while they are unconscious, I think they ought to be shut down immediately and the people that work at a place like that would be out of a job, that would be just fine with me. outfits like that are the lowlife of humanity
Most "universal health" proposals are a mix of private and public administration, just like the US Medicare system and parts of Medicaid.
The companies that will benefit most will be big insurers, who will contract with the Government. The US Government is not really equipped to pay a lot of claims and make decisions outside of what they already do with Medicare. They will contract it out.
The big insurers will see the biggest windfall from such a scheme.
However, people will probably like the choice that private insurers will bring to the table, just as they do for Medicare now. Unfortunately, such a system would be very, very expensive, and would bring US income tax rates up to those seen in Europe and elsewhere.
It depends on which politician implements it.
Despite what people say, universal healthcare is NOT FREE! We can expect to see our tax rates increase astronomically. If you're the kind of person who wants the government to waste even more of your hard-earned money, by all means..vote for it. I, however, do not.
The insurance industry will become less pofitable, because most of the politicians supporting universal healthcare are stating they will not let an insurance company deny you coverage based on a pre-existing condition. This will undoubtedly mean they will start paying out much more in claims.
If you think universal healthcare is a good idea, ask some of the Canadians who come to America for their healthcare why!
America will NOT go to Universal Health care.
But experts predict that we are fast moving towards "CONSUMER DRIVEN HEALTH CARE"
You can read millions of articles on this subject on the Internet.
This is how it works: The Doctors serve the patients at Highly reduced rates and get paid immediately. (The Doctors call it Repricing) They are happy and the patients are happy. This is how it happened before Insurance company came up with the 'smart' idea of "Insuring" the masses!
Here is a Company that is a Pioneer in this industry:

The Insurance companies have to change or suffer heavy losses. In fact many of them ARE going into Consumer driven Health Care.
Life insurance?
I have five children. My husband and I have one and he and his ex had four; they adjectives live with us. I hold always thought of these children as my own because their mother floats contained by and out of their life. I just this minute purchased a life insurance policy on myself and hold listed my spouse and my children as the beneficiaries, my husband getting 50% to foot off the mortgage and debts and next each child get 10%. But I am wondering if I've made a good decree. I worry if something deplorable did happen to both my husband and I that the kids mother would of late blow all the money. I get this policy for peace of mind to make sure that they wouldn't enjoy to worry something like the mortgage and college and all those things but should I head off more for my biological son then my step children? I don't approaching to think of them separately as I said, they are adjectives my children. I just want to do what's right by them. Please don't be rude or a smart **... I really only would like to hear other peoples opinion.Answers: I think that it markedly was knowledgeable of you to get an insurance policy. Sounds approaching you are planning for the "just contained by case" in time. If your children are young, you may want to appoint an executor to your estate within your will. You can name your husband, or if surrounded by the case he predeceases you, some trustworthy, informed third celebration - like a attorney or preferably someone with no vested interest.
I've found some honest information here too...

The likelihood of your both dying are scary to contemplate, and you are brave for doing so. Also, congrats on getting duration insurance at all. Many, if most, families do short, and it can cause a personal tragedy to become a gaping and long lasting financial one as okay.
However, the odds your both dying are awfully, very remote. That said, you may want to consider who is possible to step in the event of your death, and consider co-ordinating your life insurance payouts next to your Will or Living Trust. If, for instance, your sister's family is most credible to step up to care for your children, you may want to bring in her your contingent beneficiary, and leave a Will that appoints her as guardian of a portion of your assets and Life Insurance on behalf of the children. Even if their mother take them, she can hold the life insurance proceeds for them until an age you specify surrounded by your Will.
Beneficiaries are very uncomplicated to change, and Wills can be created on-line, or inexpensively near a Para-legal service. Be sure to ask a profession life agent in the region of this as well, and see they they hold examples of this, or perhaps they can assist you create or modify a simple Will for free or a very low cost.
Yep, if you move out money to minor children, their guardian will have total access to it.
Better bad if you set up a trust in your will, and start out the money to your trust, if the kids are minors. Or even young 20 somethings.
If I woke up within your shoes, I would change the primary beneficiary to your husband for 100% of the policy. In the event you and your husband both die at equal time, you can set up a trust to pay the policy benefits into. In the trust, you can set absolute benchmarks for the children to meet previously they can get any money. An example is....they can receive $15,000 per year from 18-22 if, and lone if, they are using it for college tuition. Antoher is...they can receive $50,000 at age 25, but only if they are debt-free. Benchmarks within a trust will help you rest assured that your children cannot debris the money you've left for them.
As for the stepchildren, if you hold always considered them your own, why would you not want to donate them the same amount your giving your biological child?
