Would insurance be cheaper on a.?

would insurance be cheaper on a bmw z3...or a bmw m3 (both around the same year roughly speaking a 1999 or 1998 maybe 2000)

and for a 16 year feeble

Answers:    Depends entirely on the insurance group of the car. Insurance companies rate (normal) cars from group 1-20 (1 human being lowest and non existent, 20 being the highest).

The BMW M3 is a large performance motor and therefore falls into groups range from 18-20

The BMW Z3 depends mainly on the engine size, range from only group 14 for a 1.8i, up to group 18 for a 3.0i. However within has be a BMW Z3 M .. basically a Z3 near the M3 engine; this car is also group 20, and is also the fastest BMW around.

To summarise, the cheapest of the two cars would be a SMALLER ENGINED Z3

If you are going to discharge for a group 20 BMW M3, then you might aswell be paying for a group 20 BMW Z3 M, same price, better manners!

However as you stated this is for a 16 year old (and im assuming you can drive at that age surrounded by your place of residence!) I think it is significantly unlikely for an insurance company to offer insurance on a observation car resembling these BMW's. If you are lucky the smallest Z3 may be possible, but could be hugely expensive!
well first i agree next to the first answer lol it seems logical that the M3 would be cheaper but insurance companies can do doesn`t matter what they want, they are mysterious and mostly evil, so you'll just hold to get quotes on both... It's going to depend on the coverages. Minimum liability for any - assuming you can find a carrier inclined to write you - is probably going to run you around $3,500. Add collision and comprehensive, and you're looking at about $8,000.

The difference between the two models is probably a couple hundred bucks - chicken nurture, when you're talking something like that much insurance premium.
A BMW, even a used one, for a 16 year old is a DUMB thought.
