yes the subsequent if kin can make that outcome. Life insurance has nil to do with that result.
The legal subsequent of kin can make that decree. If more than one, all most be contained by agreement.

Whether someone has go insurance or not is irrelevant to the question. Choosing to donate a body on the sole proof of whether you can afford the funeral or not, is a little short sided.

If it is that big of a concern, gain a life insurance policy big adequate to cover funeral expenses. Then you can freely CHOOSE if that is what you want to do.
