Answers:    depending on the size of the company, you may not know how to dis-enroll in the insurance plan. Most company's allow you to dis-enroll during the year, but it is not widely published as allowed. Talk to HR and ask why you cannot dis-enroll. If they still eliminate, contact the carrier/broker of the plan and confirm with them.
Some company's solely terminate benefits when you check out of the company, and that could be the situation you are in.
Because.specifically the contract with the insurance company. The usual requirement to skulk for enrollment before making change usually has exceptions for confident events, such as getting married, having children, getting divorced, etc. In some cases, a spouse obtain a new position and/or obtaining form insurance through one's spouse's employer qualifies as an event that allows you to form changes without hesitation, without waiting for the subsequent open enrollment.

By the approach, $130 is very cheap. Please speak about us where you work so that those of us paying more can bring jobs at hand. (Joke).
Well, you need a qualify event, or open enrollment.

Ask them for a written chronicle of qualifying events - as a rule, it's birth, death, divorce, etc. I'm not sure your spouse getting a modern job qualify.
