I went to the ER before today because I was have an anaphylactic reaction to nearly 50+ ant bites along my thighs. I went to the hospital after I blacked out, and I go in and they took my blood pressure twice, give me an epinephrine shot, 40 mg of prednisone, 2.5mg of Benadryl, and took two X-Rays of my lungs. I wanted to know how much that would cost me. I am a college student, and I'm not currently working, so if someone could provide an alternate approach for me to pay the bill except out-of-pocket, I would very much appreciate it.

Best entity to do, as soon as you get the bill, is to telephone the hospital and ask them to "reprice to a cash price". That could knock it down 50% to 80%.

The perfect news is that the hospital expected has some sort of income ascend that they will use to give a discount on the bill. Make sure that you beckon the phone number listed on the bill as soon as you receive it to discuss your option.
