Can someone answer for me how does spousal Carve-out work when the emplyor that wants to enjoy the spousal carve-out pays 100% of the premium? I have a group within Mi that pay's 100% of the contributions and wants to carve-out the spouses.

Answers:   It depends on the specific contract and any state regulations concerning carve outs. Where I live and work, we hold spousal carve out. The employer contributions verbs just as they other have, but the spouse is not covered unless the member of staff pays an additional premium for the spouse. The more premium is fairly large, but with the soaring cost of medical care, it is capably worth it for many.

Have you asked your employer? I would come up with your Human Resources or Benefits department would be able to serve you.
