Help! $10,000 plus contained by Medical Bills, no Insurance!!?

My husband and I had our son 4/11/2008, we are uninsured. We be denied the Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) because we "make too much money!" PLEASE!W e are both working at in a hurry food joints and making $10.50 and $12 respectively. Anyway, the point is, is that we are very soon in debt over $10,000 due to the hospital pop in when my son was born and don't know what to do. It took 2 months for them to process our application for the OHP just to be denied and now 2 months of bills are building up. I discern like the state of Oregon screwed me over and I am man punished for bringing a life into this world. Is in that any help out nearby?

What is the best rate property ins. contained by fl. if state dairy farm & adjectives state are without a solution within our nouns?

Answers:   I don't know how it works in Oregon, but I will share what we do within South Carolina and that might give you a place to start.

First, make conversation to the finance dept at the hospital. They should be capable of set up a payment plan. In SC, most of my condition care providers allow me to do that next to no interest charged. They also are very supportive about the amount of payments.
Most of mine I payment $50 monthly.

The main entity to do is communicate with the individuals you owe. Let them know the situation and MAKE PAYMENTS even if its just $25 or doesn`t matter what, just take home them regularly. If payments are being made, you cannot be turned over to collections. All hospitals own people whose post is to help ancestors just resembling you. and me.

And don't worry roughly speaking paying them off... creditors don't look at medical bills duplicate way they do other debt, resembling credit cards and loans.

Hope this helps. Keep trying for aid from house and children services in your community.

apt luck

What happens to all the money you put in to a life insurance policy if you dont die?

Hmmmmm. You think the state is responsible for adjectives this? Why did you get pregnant if you could not afford to hold a baby and have no insurance? Oregon did not screw you over, you did it yourself!

Contact each of the creditors and carry them to lower the bills. If insurance had rewarded, they would have gotten smaller quantity than half of the amount. Work beside them and start paying it off.

In the meantime, take some decent job that include insurance. You have another existence depending on you (not the state of Oregon) now!

Why does nation enjoy to buy sewer back-up (water damage) to protect their habitational (home) insurance?

Unfortunately this is what happen when people don't hold insurance. Now that you learned why you stipulation insurance you should get it for the subsequent time something unexpected happen.

As far as your current situation, contact the hospital and try to get it repriced and work out a money plan.

Good luck,

Jeff

Question roughly insurance, please facilitate me out?

Use the search engine resembling google or yahoo to brainstorm some ideas first if you want to gain the massive information,if you do not want to spend too much time, here is a good resource for your citation about your question.http://health-insurance.online-tips4u.in... You didn't find screwed over. You just made impossible choices, and now are upset that someone else didn't pick up the pieces.

Bad Choice #1: What express food place doesn't offer insurance to full time human resources? Did either you or your husband (or both) turn down the opportunity for insurance coverage through work? (By my calculation, surely you must have certain you were pregnant at get underway enrollment time. Even if you had previously decline insurance coverage, you could have signed up during friendly enrollment.)

Bad Choice #2: Why did you wait so long to apply for Medicaid? You're complaining that the state took 2 months to process your application...why didn't you apply in advance in your pregnancy? This would hold allowed you more leeway to develop a backup plan and/or appeal the State's decree before your child be born.

Bad Choice #3: Not being more practical, knowing that you were uninsured and can't afford to wages the out of pocket costs for having your child. If you can't afford to provide birth to the child, how in the world are you going to toy with raising him?

You're not "one punished for bringing a life into this world." You're have to deal next to the consequences of your irresponsibility.

Call the hospital and work out a payment plan. They'll expected give a self-pay discount to you, and later you'll just enjoy to make payments until the debt is self-satisfied.

And please stop blaming everyone but yourselves for the predicament you're in - bit of being a upright parent is learning how to be responsible, and you're research an important (though expensive) lesson here.

Edit to give: You *have* received real suggestions here...negotiate a brass price with the hospital, and next make a sum plan for the remaining balance. No one is wise saying that you have to repay the $10K all at once, but you are going to enjoy to make proper arrangements to traffic with the issue. There is no illusion wand to make it adjectives go away. Find out what the hospital's self-pay discount is...you may know how to knock a few thousand off the harmonize. Then arrange monthly payments for what's left. Yes, it will give somebody a lift you awhile to pay it past its sell-by date, and no, it won't be easy. But its the merely real remedy you have.

How do you achieve a auto insurance funds by individual on your parents policy?

You requirement to call the hospital, and ask them to reprice to a dosh price.

Not qualifying for welfare insurance is NOT man "screwed over". The PROBLEM is, you guys don't make adequate to cover what you want to spend (apparently), and have no robustness insurance. It's not a punishmnet, it's a natural consequence.

You COULD hold done a homebirth, with adjectives prenatal care, for underneath $2,000. You chose the most expensive route. Heck, women give birth, several a year, within those fast food restaurant parking lots on the WAY to the hospital.

You call for a plan. Your current plan (which, btw, should be grossing you $45,000 a year full time, which is slightly over the national household average), if it's not working for you, wishes to include increasing your income. Or spending less. Or both. I'd STRONGLY suggest starting by signing up for robustness insurance with your employer.
