If you're in a border state, you MIGHT own a "mexico endorsement" attached to your policy already. But if you're not, you probably don't.
Talk to your insurance company, see if they'll add that mexico back-up. AND, make sure it covers aggravated burglary, as well as liability. Cars take stolen with frightening regularity within Mexico.
Oh, and if your car get confiscated by authorities in Mexico (also a regular practice), your insurance won't cover that AT ALL. Something to chew over about.
