How may I find out give or take a few a unharmed energy insurance policy someone may hold on me?

My father had me sign a vivacity insurance document when I was eighteen which he said be just to cover funeral costs should I leave behind away. I signed the papers, not even reading them. I no longer have a relationship next to my father however a few years ago before I cut bad contact with him he mentioned he have a whole enthusiasm insurance policy on me. He told me that it was disappeared to him should I die and if he was lifeless it would go to my uncle (his twin brother) and that if my uncle throught I be mature and responsible satisfactory he'd give me the policy...since it's worth like mad of money. My father claimed he way paying greatly into it. My parents are divorced and my father's side of the family doesn't really own contact with him, he's pretty much isolated himself from everyone. How may I find out if such a policy does exist and given my father's previous existence threats to me and dangerous personality I'm not comfortable with him have this policy. Is there anything I can do roughly it?

Will have supplemental homeowners insurance cover my deductible?

Answers:   OK, second question first - no, you signed when you be 18, he's the policy owner, he's been paying the premiums, he get to choose who gets the money if you die. Period. It can't be changed. You don't achieve to change your mind.

First quiz. Likely, he has a policy on you. He say he does, you think he does, you remember signing the papers.

There's no middle database where you can look it up, if that's what you're asking.

MIB, for a duty of $75, will give you a detail of all companies that hold received an APPLICATION for life insurance, on your enthusiasm, in times gone by 10 years. If this is more than 10 years old, it won't show up. AND, it's solely applications. You get the mark of the company.

But not being the policy owner, you can't DO anything more or less it, so it's kind of a leftovers of your money.

Life insurance policy on live surrounded by boyfriend?

FROM THE ABOVE NARRATION, IT IS CLEAR THAT YOU ARE THE INSURED AND YOU ARE THE PARTY IN THE CONTRACT( AS YOU HAVE SIGNED THE PROPOSAL AND ALSO YOU ARE ABOVE 18 THEN). YOUR FATHER ONLY HAD BEEN FINANCING THE POLICY. HE HAS NO HOLD OVER IT. CHECK FROM THE AVAILABLE INFORMATION WITH THE INSURER. WITH A LITTLE PERSEVERANCE YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GET THE DETAILS OF THE POLICY, AT LEAST THE POLICY NO ETC. SECURE THE POLICY DOCUMENT. IF NOT POSSIBLE GET A DUPLICATE BOND DOCUMENT FROM THE INSURER. EXECUTE A CHANGE OF NOMINATION. THIS WILL TAKE THE WIND OUT OF THE SAILS OF YOUR FATHER. FINANCE YOUR POLICY YOUR SELF. MAIL ME FOR ANY FURTHER HELP AT vbalajtry(a)yahoo.co.in You don't own the policy, so you own no rights to the policy. It's sounds gruesome to say, but if he be to kill you he would not be capable of collect. That's kinda frowned upon at the insurance companies.

However, if he didn't set it up right, which is a possibility you may be the owner. He may have have you just sign the form as the owner assuming he'd be surrounded by control if you knew nil about it and he be paying the bills. There are 3 parts to a policy...the insured, the owner and the beneficiary AND unless otherwise stated in the policy/application the insured is the owner. So if he goofed that up next there's a chance it's already yours.

So, if you know the company only call them up and hand over them your social security number to find out if you're the owner of the policy. If so you can do anything you want to it...cash it surrounded by, change the beneficiary, etc... Just save in mind that if you amend the address first that a copy of the address would go to him, so you may want to take heed on what address you change it to first. Naturally if you did own it and fixed to cash it surrounded by you wouldn't want the check to go to him.

If you don't know the company next you have your homework cut out for you as you'll call for to call company to company to see.

If it turns out that he's the owner there's nil you can do until possibly he passes away at which point it may become yours.

Good luck and if you find out I'd be interested to know if you didn't mind sharing, because I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't the owner.

Life Insurance as a supplemental investment?

The first piece I would do is notify the local law enforcement around the life threats your father have made against you, along with the skill of the life insurance policy. If something should crop up to you, he would be the first suspect, along with a motive.

Why not contact your uncle, rather, and find out if he has knowhow of the policy? If he has, ask him if he know the name of the company.

Unless you hold a policy number, or the name of the company, I don't know of a process to find out what company issued it, except to call adjectives the local insurance offices surrounded by your area, and ask them to check their computer collection by your name, or your father's first name.

If your father is the owner of the policy, (the beneficiary and owner can be the same personality, but they are different by definition), even if you knew the signature of the company, they don't have to divulge information more or less it, without the owner's go-ahead.

If your father is the owner, and if a contingent owner, in the event of destruction or incapacitation of the owner, is not named contained by the policy application, or subsequently endorsed to the policy, then the ownership would revert to you, the insured. If this is the defence, you would have full control of the policy after you father's destruction or incapacitation.

If you, the insured, was name as the owner, then you enjoy full control of the policy. You had to instinctively sign the application, because you are over the the required age. (It's 14-1/2 in my state). Just because you signed the app does not necessarily automatically bring in you the owner of the policy.

Good luck, and God bless.
