I inquired over the phone about plan benefits for Ritalin and Concerta. This be my first time dealing with getting insurance for myself and I didn't realize this would craft me ineligible. I was looking to turn on Ritalin in the adjectives as I was ADHD diagnosed roughly 7 years back, own since been med free, and want to progress back on it. But contained by the end I conjecture I botched all of my insurance up. I live surrounded by California, and my job does not present insurance. What should I do?
Answers: You weren't denied just because you asked give or take a few Ritalin.
Since you were already diagnosed next to ADHD, you would have have to disclose that on the application for insurance anyhow. (To not do so would be fraud, and they would have canceled your policy after they discovered the omission.)
So, if that insurer feel that you were too much of a risk to insure for your ADHD, they would own denied you the policy whether or not you asked about Ritalin.
(Of course, that doesn't shift the fact that you get rejected, but at least you know it wasn't your "fault" a moment ago for asking that question.)
As far as what you should do presently...check with other insurers contained by your area. Just because one insurer denied your application for ADHD doesn't penny-pinching they all will. (But be prepared for the possibility that your premiums may be difficult than for the "average" person due to your condition.)
Or find a employment that offers insurance.
in actuality if you google it BLUE CROSS does not cover RITALIN..why are you deciding to pilfer it again if you were med free? Are you sure theres no other grounds why you want it now? I hear some people are using it cuz it is a stimulant that produces pharmacological effects similar to those of cocaine and amphetamines .In college students it is individual used as a stimulant to help them stayed focused and awake (for long night of studying) it is often anyone used as a stimulant and appetite suppressant.Ritalin is also occasionally used in adults to treat narcolepsy -- an out of control sleeping disorder).
Why start now?Taking Ritalin over a long length of time can produce addiction..
What you should do, is go see a doctor and possibly they have other drugs that they can prescribe you specifically almost the same that Blue cross would cover..
OK, you enjoy to declare that ADHD diagnosis! But you won't find someone predisposed to give you a private policy, that covers it.
I'd suggest you look for a unmarked job, that offer group health insurance. That's your ONLY luck to get that covered.
Never ask an insurance company such a request for information. It makes it seem to be that you have a pre-existing condition or that you are seeking drugs.
I live contained by CA too. My insurer is HealthNet, and I'm very smiling with the service I've gotten for moderately a number of years.
Go to www.insurance-forum.lattice and look for a Cal independent agent. It is a chat room for agents and you will get adjectives the help within is. You can even ask a question.
