I took FMLA to take safekeeping of my family and it be approved. Prior to taking the leave lower than FMLA I had give or take a few 13 days of paid vacation remaining. I have read somewhere that those 13 days are to be used first. Does this penny-pinching that I will be paid for those 13 days? And not compensated for the total days on FMLA -13?
Answers: In my company, and this was checked next to the statute, we can take time off time in adding together to the FLMA. So in your overnight case, it would be 13 paid time off days then the 12 weeks unpaid. If you own accrued sick days, they can be used if you are sick (we can use also sick days for on the spot family sickness - similar to a sick child) to pay you in the 12 weeks, so for example if you had 5 sick days, you can use these to settle for 1 week of the 12 weeks FMLA. If this is for YOU, if you have it, you would use short-term disability, to remuneration for 6 weeks of the 12 weeks (i.e. maternity leave).
