With only $16,000 contained by income, she could be below the poverty line within your area, and next she could qualify for some type of aid that isn't exactly health insurance.

First of adjectives, if she is 20 years old, she shouldn't be claimed as a dependent on her parents taxes any longer. If she is an independent, she will promising qualify for state aid. If they ignore her, why should they benefit from the duty incentives of having a dependent?

Where I live, the public hospitals own health plans. When I be (ahem) fired from a job and have no income and needed medical attention, I got on the plan at the public hospital. I have to prove residence in the county, and later show proof of no income, which was really of late proof that I was denied laying-off benefits that same week.

Once they put me on their plan, I was allowed free unlimited visit to the hospital any time, and free unlimited visits to in the order of eight clinics all over the county.

Public robustness care is not substandard here. Where I live, the public hospital is in truth the regional trauma hospital which handles the most complex cases, and accept LifeFlight. I felt I be always treated correctly and with compassion, and when I finally get a new opportunity, I moved on.

So, you might want to check with your county for condition programs if you can't qualify for Medi-Cal. Call the public hospitals and ask if they have programs.
