Insurance Questions and Answers

Do you work contained by auto and property insurance, agent or sub-producer?

Question:
How long? First choice? Do you like it? Why? Hate it? Why?

Do you preference you had done something else, or do you hold a good energy doing this?

Answer:
I've been doing this for 20+ years, and I LOVE property casualty. It's my first choice - I enjoy a college degree within something else, and was in actuality working on my Master's when I took this day living in insurance, and LOVED it. I enjoy been doing insurance for 22 years, and working as an agent for 21.

I love the culture contact, the need for creativity, the constantly shifting rules, the multitasking, etc. The only article I really don't like is file (lol, not that *I've* done it in years) - and beside the advent of transactional filing, dissertation is in the process of going by the wayside, anyway.

Many, oodles people I know, though, don't resembling it at all - it's merely that the money is good, and they don't hold other options. I've other had other option, I just choose insurance. When I've have to move (for hubby), I've had NO problem finding a living in a different area. So that's a bonus, too. Some industries are regional - insurance is everywhere.
roughly 19 yrs ago I did for about 4 yrsfirst as an agent consequently as a sub producer. I liked it and did powerfully, but quit to start a family.
Nop. I'm a short time ago don't want to..
Well this is my first year in P/C Broker surrounded by Puerto Rico. I worked as Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter with frequent MGA's about 14 yrs.

I love this opening when you have the satisfation to relieve this agent to sell his or her proposal.
I've lately recently starting working at an insurance company, and while it's not other fun to deal beside customers who don't like the rates, the work itself isn't discouraging. Sitting at a desk all daytime five days a week is rather monotonous, however. It is not my first choice as a career, this is merely a job while I'm going to college. It's not discouraging money though, and you don't need any schooling, a short time ago knowledge of computers, and unsurprisingly the license to sell insurance.

Where can I buy group condition insurance besides work?

Question:
I'm thinking of starting my own business, or just going on sobatical. I obligation catastrophic coverage (emergency room visits) and a good prescription plan (to cover long-term meds) at a minimum. For the Rx plan, I'd close to to avoid any pre-existing conditions exclusions since some of my meds are expensive. Ideally, I would like to hold hmo/ppo coverage like I hold now, but it would seem to be like that can't develop. I've heard some stories around joining certain clubs to this wrap up, but have no specific info.

Thanks surrounded by advance!

Answer:
You can purchase group plans through independent agencies such as ours. We tender companies such as Blue Cross, Assurant, Humana, Unicare and more.

In Illinois, Group plans may be purchased by as small a group as 2 people, but you necessitate to prove w-2 status and a certain amount of hours worked per week. A husband and wife operating a home business could qualify. Group plans are garaunteed issue, however if it is a "new" group plan and your "company" have not had group insurance beforehand, pre-existing wait period apply.

In Illinois, individual and family applicants are subject to underwrite and pre-existing conditions. Certificates of continued coverage apply only when going from a group plan to another group plan.

Be painstaking to understand what you're purchasing within a temporary policy. They are underwritten post claim, which mode if you do file a claim at that point they will examine your medical collection to see if in certainty you qualified for the insurance. Companies have the right to deny claims and annul policies if they determine something was pre-existing.

State law and company rules vary. It's best to hold an agent research your needs beside various companys and connect you next to the right company, the right plan at the right price for you!

Feel free to contact us for more information. And good luck!
Depending on what stae you live contained by you can get Blue Cross and Blue Shield or HumanaOne, both propose individual health insurance.
I loathe to say this but blue cross blue shield's Anthem seem to have a pretty virtuous plan for outside of employment plans... good luck, it's tough
You cannot buy a group strength plan alone. However, you can buy health insurance through an insurance sale agent. For example, you can buy Blue Cross by yourself.

I don't know when people get the idea that the lone way to attain health insurance is through their employer. You can sometimes get accurate deals beside group coverage, but these days companies resembling Blue Cross, Humana and Kaiser Permanente are giving great deals on individual coverage. The singular way to find out is to do the research yourself. It depends on what you necessitate, but there are greatly of choices out there.
I've be self employed for 5 years and I've done a ton of research on health insurance companies. This is the company I use. Their quote form is graceful, the prices are good and I hold not had any problems beside them. Good luck.
Well, you can't get group insurance on your own, unless you are cog of a grouplike an employer.

If your employer subsidizes the cost of the employer's health plan, I can almost guarantee you will not be capable of find any cheaper coverage from an out of your pocket standpointbecause most employers subsidize a significant portion of their employee's premiums.

There are virtuous individual health plans out here, but they will most certainly cost you more than what you could catch from your employer.

If you are leaving your employer's plan to step to another, you should be able to qualify for continutation of coverage benefits, but if you are uninsured even for a bit bit and try to get coverage after briefly individual uninsured, you will not be able to avoid pre-existing exclusions.

If you are individual going on sabbatical and will be out temporarily you could try short term insurance coverage, which is inexpensive and undemanding to buy. Try Assurant's plan. It's only polite for six months, however. You can pick up another short term plan from some other company and bring it up to a year, but by then you'd better hold something else lined up.

You will be contacted near a licensed local health agnet for your group insurance requests. I get the most of my insurance desires from them.
Every state has it's own set of law as they apply to insurance companies and their policies so my answer may not be entirely accurate as it applies to your particular states set of law. What you are asking I think is "How can I verbs to receive adequate benefits for conditions that exist presently if I leave my current insurer?" In short - you can't. Ask yourself, why would an insurance company filch me on as an insured when they are guaranteed to lose money on me? Check with the HR dept at your current employer to see if COBRA benefits can be extended to you and for how long. You may also want to phone up your state insurance dept to find out about current law as they pertain to your situation. As previously mentioned, there may be a state pool that you qualify for. Most of those waive pre existing condition exclusions after a preliminary waiting time of year.
Sometimes a local business club will offer a buy contained by to group insurance, or your church, or other civic organization. The problem is, those who want GROUP coverage, and don't want the exclusions of a private plan, usually have pre-existing conditions, so mainly, this type of group coverage costs A LOT more than it would through the employer.
I understand your concerns, because you are taking meds you probably hold pre-existing conditions that would either capture you a highly rate plan, or more than likely decline for Individual healthcare. What you are referring to is a Association plan, example most realtors who join local TRUE estate boards are offered health plans from hoary association plans that were put contained by place when they were lawful to do so, the rates on these plans are highly rate.
Since you have current group coverage, I would suggest you opt for the Cobra coverage that will be offered to you when you evacuate your current employer, Cobra is the same insurance group plan that you will be offered when you move, cost will be 2% more than the total premium.
Group insurance would require a minimum of two employee's, and to qualify for group you would need to show a history of payroll (DE-6), some companies one and only require a business license and or Corporation papers, the truth is that most health insurance co.'s don't want to insure groups lower than 5employee's. In 2006 Kaiser Permanente started a re-certification process for groups under five employee's-- what this resources is that existing groups that had underneath five employees are one asked to re-qualify for group insurance, this is called cleaning house. Blue Shield merely recently (very quietly) started asking for payroll annals on groups under 5, again cleaning house of small employer. Basically the health insurance co's know that a high-ranking percentage of small groups with underneath five employees are not legit actual groups, most be formed just to win benefits for people that would otherwise be un-insurable (based on form conditions, ET) in my evaluation, in the subsequent few years groups will make requirements much tougher to qualify for group insurance.
Over former times few years it is getting tougher and tougher for individuals and families to qualify base on pre-existing health conditions. Most companies very soon decline people for things close to Silicone Breast implants, to Diabetes to Abnormal Pap exam to Asthma, starting 2007 (next month) blue cross in ca. will automatically rate individuals who smoke beside a 25% rate increase just for smoking, if that personage has any other vigour conditions or is overweight at all will be rate higher or decline.

Question:
can anyone tell me where on earth we can get cheap public liability insurance for doormen, bouncers etc..contained by the uk
thanks

Answer:
There are one and only a few insurers in the UK offering cover for doormen, so the premiums are not cheap. Normally it is the employer that covers the doormen for public & employers' liability, even thou the doormen I don`t know self employed. I would expect the premium for a single door to be around lb800. They would of course enjoy to be SIA approved.

how to report for an appeal to vigour insurance company?

Question:
health insurance claim

Answer:
Call the customer service number and ask the company what the process is for file a claim. Maybe there is information more or less this online at their website.

Make sure that you document every phone call and written correspondence, including date, times, and names of associates you speak with.

Give information they ask for, but don't volunteer too much extra, it usually hurts, a bit than helps.

Be prepared to query a little bit, as they probably won't put it right out near. But definitely hang on to calling and asking until you get a good enough answer.
They have to put in the picture you what the procedure is. Read the denial form carefully. It should report to you right in that form what you own to do to appeal it. If it doesn't, at least within must be a toll-free customer service number you can call.
The insurance company should supply you beside a claims form. Call and ask for it. If it is workd related, check in the organization to see if they have one. Some doctors folder them for you also.
Call your insurance company and ask them what their appeals address and process is.

In most cases you can simply type a letter stating why you what them to review your claim and distribute it to the address they gave you when you call along with a copy of the explanation of benefits (aka EOB) they sent you.

Keep copies of the notification and EOB.

Call them back contained by 2 weeks from the date you mailed the dispatch and make sure they own it and are processing it.

It is even better if you can get a describe and fax number of a person to dispatch the appeal directly to them and then you enjoy someone you can hold accountable when you ring up back and check up on them.
Read your policy. Write the missive. STate in the communiqu¨¦ what you want them to do, and why the policy should allow it to be done, which provisions. Ask them to respond in writing.
Call your agent, a honest agent will be familiar with the claims process and can lend a hand you with the proper forms. Example next to Blue Cross of ca. you can call and appeal the claim right over the phone.
if you want time security you hold to check more info
http://www.freewebs.com/getinsurance...
First thing: ring them and ask what their procedure for appeals is if it is not clearly spelled out on the denial. ESPECIALLY address/fax numbers!! Secondly: provide all documentation requested - or doesn`t matter what is pertinent to the claim, such as doctors' office action, etc. Thirdly: be dilligent about following up on the appeal - such as ten calendar days from the date you submit the appeal to confirm reciept of the documentation, consequently every ten days afterwards - unless the insurance tells you it will be a minimum of time previously it's processed. (such as 30 business days - in which skin, allow an extra five days and start calling.) Finally - be sure to follow all instructions properly and ask for clarification on those you own questions around.

Good luck!!

A lesson in condition insurance might help, form insurance in the integrated states started in the 1800's it be used as a pooling of risk. Today, it works much the same millions of relations pay into a plan- and a small percentage of these folks certainly make claims. The insurance companies hold brain washed american society into pusing plans that own small copays and little or no deductibles along with controlled benefits, ie. no maternity coverage, or brand first name coverage. Back in the light of day, healthcare was for main catastrophies not the small stuff. Adding all these benefits hold made policies un-affordable for 43milliion americans. An easy solution would be educating or crumbling away the fraud that anyone needs to pre-pay for medical thoroughness. You see when someone buys a traditional plan ie. HMO plan, payment is pre-paid to the insurance co. a percentage go directly to the primary care physician you pick, so regardless if you dance into the doctor for services the doctor and insurance co. make money the first sunshine you sign up. The real bearing to take control of medical costs and premiums is to look into a Health Savings Account, these are unbelievably exciting for anyone who earns an income. So abundant tax advantages and significally lowers your overall costs, this type of plan works on pure arithmetic, without preying on your the creeps. You will not see these types of plans being advertise on TV or newspaper, the solitary ones talking something like them is the money advisors. So your asking if they are so great, why have I not hear so much about them, very well first off condition companies are not promoting them, they cut into profits when sold. Second because they cannot be sold by novice salespeople, the big brokerage houses approaching ehealth insurance and other large brokerage houses are not explaning them, you see selling this type of plan take an experienced person, you can revise more at www.HSAInside.com
They are cheap & reasonable and own good vigour plans,

Life insurance is preferred by family which is costlier within vocabulary of costs.why not personal accidentis opt?

Question:
personal accident policy is cheaper which have table of benefits costing around 200rs/lac.Life insurance proves to be costlier in lingo of premium&in long run.whereas general insurance is short occupancy contract costless too

Answer:
because accident insurance on the odd occasion pays out. you have to die by bodily injuries to receive such stipend. its really a complete waste of money. near ordinary enthusiasm insurance, it pays out no matter how you die.

permanent status insurance is cheapest in the long run.
Personal quirk insurance covers only on loss or disability due to accident. And chance need not be a must within every death, but demise is certain to everybody. More over you will capture some returns on your survival for your oldage.
good luck
If you want more details on insurance contact pnkmurthy@yahoo.com
Cost should not be the sole criteria. This is a deeply myopic view. Because Life Insurance pays a benefit due to destruction it is the better choice for protecting loved ones against the devastating loss of income that might occur if a Member dies pre-maturely.

A Personal Accident Policy is a accurate choice to supplement a life insurance policy -- but because it excludes intuitive causes, it should not be relied upon as the with the sole purpose protection for your family.

Personal Accident Insurance may be an attractive odds when a person

1. enjoy a particularly stirring lifestyle, and wants other protection against death or dismemberment from unexpected causes.
2. have very stirring family member, and wants protection against the unplanned death or dismemberment of a spouse or dependent child.
3. cannot qualify for natural life insurance due to recent and substantial medical issues, but still wants protection against release or dismemberment from accidental cause.

Can time insurance benefits be seized to pay envelope debts?

Question:
I know they're not taxed. But if my husband have debts that are in his christen only that be incurred before we be married, or even while we've been married, can those companies collect transfer of funds from the benefits I would receive from his life insurance? If so, is within a way to prevent this and protect my benefits?

Answer:
Sort of.

Here's the dipper - debts that accumulate from one spouse during a wedding ceremony, in most states, are owed by BOTH spouses. So if one dies, the debt doesn't stir away.

The life insurance is going to wages out to ONLY the beneficiary - if it's the estate, then adjectives his debts will have to achieve paid out of it, previously any leftover is distributed. If it's a personage, then that human being gets the money. But once that personage gets the money, it's THEIRS. And any debt arrangements - such as bank justification attachments - can attach any of their money.

So, the BEST way to protect, is to 1. settle up off the debts that occur during the marriage 2. possibly you'll requirement to pay sour the prior debts, depending on the property laws of your state and 3. give notice the money to an individual, not an estate, or use it to set up a trust and pay out a monthly costs instead of a lump sum.

You should probably sit down with an estate advocate on this issue, for state-specific answers.
I don't think they can collect from Life Insurance
No, the benefit is not money of your husband or his estate. It is the beneficiaries money, it could lone be seized to pay the debts of the beneficiary.
The with the sole purpose way they would know how to use them is if your husband has his estate programmed as the beneficiary. If you are listed they will not be capable of collect.
Depends on state law. In some states, time insurance benefits CANNOT be seized if the beneficiary is a person...but CAN be seized if the beneficiary is "Estate".
Good luck...
If you are the name beneficiary on his life insurance, the proceeds can not be attached by a creditor. However, if you are the executor of his estate, one of the first things you must do is reward his outstanding debts. How you get the money to do so is up to you. You may involve the insurance proceeds to settle the estate.

Do I inevitability robustness insurance? What caring?

Question:
Right now I'm paying between $300-$400 surrounded by monthly prescriptions without insurance. But I'll merely be needing these prescriptions for smaller quantity than a year. My dad is paying for my doctor visits, also minus insurance, and I'm sure it's denting his wallet. I need to look in my doctor once a month or so until my problem is fixed. I basically want short occupancy insurance, but what's the benefits? What kind of company should I jump for? I searched online for sure clues but I only get confused. I'm cautious of actually going and conversation to somebody because there are greatly of people out here waiting to take assistance of an 18 year old womanly that's looking to spend money. Help!! I have no clue!!

Answer:
If you are paying $300 to $400 per month after you need to bring health insurance swift. You can get a policy for 1/2 to 1/4 of that amount that provides exceptional coverage. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to gain you the best price. I am paying less than 1/2 after I did.

Go to: http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?ref...

Take comfort,
Casey
You can possibly get insurance but it will most potential cost a lot more than $300 or $400 hundred a month, at hand will be a deductible of maybe $500 to $2,000 dollars and it will not cover a pre-existing condition; so it will not retribution for your treatments.

So, you need insurance but it won't cover your current condition.
For more info pop in http://www.issplist.com
Based on the fact that you inevitability prescriptions and
frequent doctors visits, I recommend the MySimpleCard
bias. If you are unsure whether it will save you
money or not, basically subscribe on a trial/month to month
basis so you can try it out variety sure it saves your father
money. You don't need to verbalize to anyone just sign up online.
Well, insurance isn't going to hold care of a pre-existing problem - so "short term" form insurance is fine, but it's not going to pay your CURRENT bills.

The best channel to get it, is through your employer. The SECOND best process, is through a local, independent agent, who can explain the different plans and benefit payouts to you.

Is it lawful for hospitals to bill or ask for a medical insurance for a work related injury?

Question:
For some reason I thought if you have a work related injury, hospitals had to bill the workers comp and it be illegal for them to bill any private medical insurance. I know auto insurance have a cap, similar to $100,000 personal injury and once that runs out the medical insurance starts being billed but for some common sense I thought it was different next to work comp claims. Was I wrong?

Answer:
Just fyi Mbrcatz, not all states w/c pays at the Medicare smooth. As a matter of reality, the state of Michigan pays higher than Medicare.

A hospital is not supposed to bill a person's private medical insurance unless the claim have been denied by the employer and/or the employer's w/c haulier.

As a medical biller for a group of ER physicians, we have various people come within a say the use they are there is work related and subsequently we find out it is not and the claim is denied. If the hospital got the person's medical insurance, it save us from having to rely on the personality to contact us later and bequeath it to us.

Bottom line, it is not illegitimate for them to obtain the information for back-up purposes.
There's one particularly good cause why Hospitals should always carry a person's health insurance information, even if it appears the stay will be covered underneath workers comp: if the WC carrier denies to settle because it disputes the causality of the injury to the treatment, the Hospital cannot be reimbursed by your insurer unless it obtained pre-authorization for the hospitalization or surgery; nor can it be reimbursed if it has-been to follow other procedures required by its contract with your insurer.

So this is immaculately legal; the Hospital merely cannot bill WC, get remunerated in full, afterwards bill your insurer as if it wasn't a WC-covered injury -- that would definately be insurance fraud.

I hope this helps.
No, workers comp does NOT EVER pre-approve payments. So you jump to the hospital, you get treated, any you or the hospital or the employer sends the bill to the workers comp carrier, and IF they wish it's covered, then they rate at the medicare rate, and the hospital isn't allowed to bill you any co pay or deductible or anything.

But if they DON'T cover, for anything reason, afterwards YOU pay the bill, any you or the hospital submits it to your health insurance owner, and YOU pay the co pays and deductibles.

So obviously hospitals want the private medical information - what if your employer let the comp policy lapse? What if the comp delivery service decides it's not work related, and doesn't money? Then the hospital would be stuck holding the bag.

What is the motivation for insurance companies?

Question:
Honestly, What is the point to an insurance company? They rape you of your money and god forbit you have that one fluke, and go to engineer a claim, you most likely enjoy to fight near them and if you get your bearing, more than likely they rape ya even more of your money. You recompense alot for this crap, and when you need to use it, you should be capable of get the money lacking putting up a fight or anyone raped more afterwards. It seems similar to a joke. Criminal is more resembling it. Rape us of our money then brand us fight to use it. I can hold a savings article and put all that money into it and gain it without a fracas. I hate insurance... and honestly if i ever get into an accident... i wouldn't bring up to date them...Id just draw from raped of more $ most likely. There should be one rate across the board base on age, experience, vehicle, etc... not this $5000 from progressive then $1000 from geico. That is bull! But this is a screwed up world anyways.

Answer:
Now that you get that off your chest

Is in attendance a question within this? Or is the only query "what is the reason for insurance companies?

The foundation for them is because people want to buy insurance to protect themselves from catastrophic losses. For example. Say you catch appendicitis. Do you want to pay the $10,000 or so that it's going to cost to move about have surgery or would you a bit have insurance to cover the cost?

I must say aloud though, if you're getting a quote of $5000 from Progressive, you must be a really bad risk. How abundant tickets and accidents do you enjoy? Premiums are based on a great deal of statistical information. One of the factors is what are the probability that this guy is going to get into an quirk that costs a lot of money? If you hold a lot of tickets and accident, that makes you a intensely high risk and you will take-home pay a much higher premium after I will.
Faye is correct, one more item I would like to incorporate - if you want a government controlled rate for auto insurance, move to Massachusetts. The rate is impossible to tell apart there no situation what company you go to. It isn't cheap any.
Go to Massachusetts. They set their rates for auto insurance. There's no competition.

Because there's a maximum rate for bad drivers, the obedient drivers also pay much more in that for insurance than everywhere else.
The rates ARE based on age, experience, vehicle, etc... It is also base on your risk factor. They count the fact that you enjoy accidents & tickets.

That is why near are different rates for different people.
As far as I know, nearby is no requirement for carrying insurance. There is only a requirement for financial deposit. If you don't like the road the insurance companies work, then post your own money beside the State and become a qualified self insured.

The reason for insurance is to share the risk. That scheme that you won't have to reimburse 100% of any potential accident, (your failure or someone who hits you) out of your pocket.

So...if you can afford to be a qualified self insured, go for it, and you won't enjoy to worry in the region of the premium amount, or how much money is paid out. All you will enjoy to worry just about is whether you have adequate money in the edge to pay any claim you are at eccentricity for, or whether or not you can afford to lose your house, your paychecks, etc.

PS, I live in one of the chief rated insurance states. Yet, I still take-home pay it, and am thankful to grasp it. The insurance company provides me cost of defense if needed, takes perfectionism of my screwups, and because other people may not pass insuance in ruin of the law, it protects me from them too.
Your ring.

How do I budge to the doctor short my insurance card?

Question:
My insurance was forceful the day I signed up, but I still hold not received my card. How do I go to the doctor minus it?

Answer:
Sometimes the doctor's office can telephone the insurance carrier and confirm that you are covered, even if you don't enjoy the card yet.
You can call upon your insurance company and ask them to fax something to your doctor's office.

Or distribute the receptionist at the doctor's office your insurance info and they can call upon and verify that you are insured.

It will be easiest if you call beforehand and return with your insurance card number from your company. There should be no problem with doing this.
You don't really have need of a card. Call your insurance carrier and find out your contestant ID, policy number, group number, and whatever relevant information you may necessitate. What you can also do is go the the doctor and own him/her bill you later. You consequently submit a claim with your bill to your insurance owner and they will reimburse the doctor.
As soon as your in the insurance system a doctors bureau can confirm coverage by calling the insurance company with your birth date and social protection number. But your employer has to process the information first - if they hold to mail the information it may transport a few weeks, if they are on-line and do the processing themselves it should it only help yourself to 24 hours from the time they enter your data.
Just ring up the insurance company, and get a faxed copy of your info. they will present your your subscriber id and group number.
you can also check to see if your insurance company have a website, if they do you might be able to acquire a print out of your benefits off in attendance.
you can call the insurance company and return with proof of coverage. Or you can let the MD's department bill you and then you can submit to the insurance yourself or own the MD's office submit at a after that date for you
The doctor's office will have need of your insurance information, especially if this is your first visit. Have your insurance fax you a form to embezzle to the doctor in lieu of your card (or convey it to the doc's office).

You can also pay for the look in yourself and later submit it to the insurance company.
If your insurance is valid, and your doctor's organization has internet access, they should be capable of view your info using your social payment number. (You can also do that search yourself and bring them the info.)

If that's without a solution, then give the name the insurance company and ask when the card will be issued, and if they can not provide you with a adequate answer (such as "it was mail on 12/8/06" or something to that effect.) then telephone your HR person and hold them complain to the insurance company - because you guys are paying them, your opinion technique more than the providers of service who are trying to get salaried by them. (And if an entire company is PO'ed, that's a big problem for the insurance!!)

If the card was mail and you just haven't gotten however, explain this to the doctor's office, and relay them you'll bring them the card as soon as you receive it. You may have to sign a waiver stating that if you don't bring the card inwardly a predetermined amount of time, you have to pay envelope the bill, but that's okay. Don't pay up front if you own insurance. (My office tell patients they need to bring us the insurance info inwardly 2 weeks or they're responsible for the bill. Nine times out of ten, we get that insurance info inside 5 days.)
