Insurance Questions and Answers

Do mentally not at your best home owners rate difficult insurance?

Question:
Recently I deeded over an inherited home to my brother and myself as joint-tenants. My brother is paranoid-schizophrenic.

Will we repay higher superior home insurance because one owner is mentally-ill? Can the insurance company even refuse or dissolve our insurance?

We and the home are in Michigan.

Answers:
Your insurance will not be complex. Mental health have no bearing on your insuarance premium and mental vigour is not considered a risk. Your homeowner's insurance can't be denied, canceled or nonrenewed due to mental health or physical strength issues either.
Have never hear of any home Insurance Company ask if a person is mentally unwell . Did they ask you if you drank and smoked? I don't think so.
I'm sure it's possible. Before I started working within the auto insurance industry, I never would have dreamed that someones rearing could affect the rate you pay, but it does.
The mental size of the owner has no attitude upon the insurance. What will determine if you pay a superior premium or are denied insurance is if either of you hold any history of homeowner claims.
No, insurance companies can't charge higher rates. It won't affect anything, as any vandalize done by the owner of the premises, your brother, won't be covered, ANYWAY.

You MIGHT pay better rates if the house is non-owner occupied. You WILL have need of to change the homeowners policy to emulate the new ownership, and the first name insured MUST be living in the house, for a homeowners policy.

Now, if the first name insured has a rotten credit win, that WILL affect rates and/or eligibility. But that's a different issue from the mental illness.
The Americans beside Disabilities act almost clearly outlaws this. Disabled americans are protected just similar to minorities, women, etc.
Most certainly not.

As far as I know, it's only felony you have to verbs about. That might oscillate by state, though.
Usually the only misdemeanors that would throw red flags out at hand would be anything involving money, or anything that would paint you as a dishonest person. It is other state specific, though. Some states will issue a license to folks who can't get license in other states.

If your dud to appear in court have anything to do with child support contained by arrearage however, I don't think any state would issue a license, until it be paid up.
Theft, ANY problems as a bonded fiduciary agent, ANY problems surrounded by the past beside insurance commisioner. Usually it is only felony you have to survey out for but if you have have a problem with the commissioner surrounded by the past, you worked as a fiduciary agent for any company and you have a problem with them, you will most potential have aproblem getting a license.

Can my employer submit insurance that will not cover me?

Question:
My employer changed to a health insurance explicitly out of state and the tell me that they will not cover any doctors contained by my state. They will cover prescriptions but how am i going to get a prescription minus talking to a doctor. Is it permitted for my employer to do this?

Answers:
There is no law that an employer have to offer vigour insurance at all (with the exception of MA, I think). If an employer offer insurance, it's between the insurer and the employer as to the type of coverage offered (i.e. HMO, PPO, POS, indemnity, etc). In your case, the insurance offered to you should at most minuscule cover "out-of-network" doctors and hospitals; i.e. you can receive reimbursement for care given by providers and hospitals that don't hold a participation agreement beside the insurer. Such coverage will have a deductible you must first group, then you'll own to pay co-insurance. After the insurer pays a percentage of the "allowable amount," you'll be stuck beside the remainder of the bill, since the "allowable amount" is not based on the actual billed charges.

If this scenario isn't agreeable to you, you could other purchase your own policy, provided you meet insurability guidelines. Call your state's insurance commissioner's bureau and ask for a list of insurers offering individual policies contained by your state. If you suspect you're not insurable due to health, ask whether your state have a "high risk pool" and how you can receive coverage through it.

One caution: across the world, individual policies cost much more than group policies.

I hope this helps.
Many companies don't bestow any coverage - unfortunately, benefits are a perk, not a requirement.
It is allowed because they are not required to offer condition insurance...that's why it's called a "benefit". If your robustness insurance company is a big one (like Blue Cross) they probably have doctors that are "in-network" beside the blue cross in your state (example, read aloud you live in CA but you own Blue Cross Texas.if you go to a doctor i.e. in-network with the Blue Cross CA company, later you are fine). I'm assuming that other big insurance companies operate the same style.

Health insurance?

Question:
I am about to turn 18. I enjoy blue cross blue shield though my parents. Someone told me I had to register contained by school to save my insurance. But someone else told me I am covered until I am 21 as long as I am not married and am my parents dependant. Which one is true? Need to know. I am turning 18 in a week and its to slowly to register until Winter. I have strength problems. Not good!

Jesus save! YAY!

Answers:
You need to hold your parents look up what an eligible dependent is under their coverage surrounded by their benefit booklet. If they no longer have this, they can speak to someone within their HR department or contact BCBS customer service. Most BCBS group policies cover a dependent to age 19 end of year.

If your parent's coverage is through a COBRA eligible employer, losing coverage due to loss of dependent status is a COBRA qualify event.
It depends on the plan...Most insurance companies will not cover you over the age of 18 unless you are living in their house and going to college.
Well, it's going to depend on what state you are within, but NORMALLY, you have to be a full time student if you're over 18, to stay on your parents' insurance.

"Someone else" is probably wrong.
Most plans require you to be a full-time student if you are over 18 (and some plans are 19.if you are lucky!) I would call for blue cross tomorrow and ask them. i used to work at blue cross and some plans did say 19, because lots people turn 18 while still contained by high-school. (and if you are still in lofty school, that does still count as anyone a full-time student)
Have your parents check their plan. Sometimes they'll cover you without anyone a student until the end of the calendar year you turn 18, sometimes it's 19. Most plans though, will singular cover you if you can prove you're a full time student...

Sometimes, depending on your parents' employer, they can purchase COBRA coverage for you for the time between now and when you walk back to arts school. (My boss did that for her son once upon a time.)
Have your parents check their plan to see what age is covered until.

Jesus saves? He ain't good you from this situation.
Zippy and Kelly have given you wonderful guidance and I agree completely.

To "Old School:" be nice! This is Insurance, not R&S! Jesus DOES save. You can find out in a minute or later -- it's your choice.
They are both true. If you are a full time student below 21, then you can be dependent on your parents' insurance.
Full Time Student (FTS) Criteria

Eligible children inwardly age limit who are full time students carrying a minimum of 12 hrs/credits or four bookish courses per semester at a licensed and/or accredited institution of difficult learning.

Without FTS rider, dependent is still covered to maximum age limt as long as full time student usually up to the age of 23.

If at hand is a rider purchased by the employer group, the age limit can be increased to sometimes 23 or so!
look surrounded by your blue shield policy threes the answer . if you dint have a policy ask your parents to write to them and receive you a copy of there policy for what are you be insured for

Trying to find out what it takes to receive a temp. insurance license.

There are two ways to get started to grasp in to insurance business.
1. Traditional mode.
2. Corporate way

surrounded by traditional way, first you hold to choose which company you prefer. because its tough to change the company after ward. pay fees between 600 to 900. get hold of 100hours training. pass IRDA exam and go and get license to sell insurance for 3 years and target from the company.

in corporate opening,
a corporate company got license. already within are licensed advisors. Take use of the advisors refer your leads to corporate. grasp the referral income
here you need not bother in the region of training, exam, fees. no monthly targets, only just freelance.

in traditional route, as you are an agent you will get commissions from your sale alone.
in corporate style, you can get commission for your referral and also from the sales of your troop that you can gradually form.

There isn't a conditional license, unless you're temporarily handling the estate of a deceased agent, and singular in some states.

You enjoy to pass a audition and pay a charge. Depending on the type of license and state, you might need to purloin a class or have a sponsoring company.

Check next to your state insurance department website to find out state specific information.
Well, it starts by learning in the region of insurance. If you don't have a fully clad understanding of insurance, explicitly where you should start.
My suggestion is to check into some insurance jobs first, find out what an agent's duties afternoon to day are, at a given company formerly you spend all the money and time on insurance classes, and the experiment. There are lots of insurance companies with horrible job who will tell you bold face lies to get you to come work for them. These companies will hire anyone because take-home pay is commission based (in command to get rewarded, you have to receive them money, if you don't, you don't get paid) and repeatedly you have to settle up the company a start up fee, or buy materials from them since you can begin work.

There are heaps great jobs contained by the insurance industry, however, and you might want to find one that would suit you first. Also, don't just rob the boss's word on how the job will work, and merely believe the hype about how much money you'll produce if that money is guaranteed, and not something you'll have to income back. You can product money in these types of situations, but you can also lose money, and finish up in debt to an insurance company that never remunerated you a dime, and have a vector hit on your signature that will stop other companies from appointing you.

Once you decide it's really something you want to do, run a net search for your state's nickname followed by department of insurance. It may not be called the department of insurance surrounded by your state, but usually you can find it with those words. For instance Florida's DOI is call Florida Department of Financial Services.
Congrats as u are going in a terribly much developing sector for ur career. Insurance is resembling a part time commission done within ur relatives or friends. U wont get the impression as u are doing a job as u will be mostly near ur relatives or friends or meeting inhabitants. Before start selling an insurance u need to write a exam conducted by IRDA and those are conducted on sundays every quarterly adjectives over the India. U need to wages a fees of around 900 for the Exam and once cleared u will be given with a licence of Insurance advicor which u can use for any of the insurance company. But at a time u can work for singular one insurance company. U will be given leads by ur senior and with the sole purpose thing u necessitate to do is to attend the client and close the case. If u are interested i am working for HDFC Standard Insurance[Bangalore]. Can afford me a call on 9980523095.
Approach the insurance company for which you aspiration to work and they will guide you to take 100 hours training for IRDA exam and next you can start insurance business after getting license. this license will be valid for 3 years and again you have to renew after 50 hrs training every 3 years.

Good Luck

No, that's cosmetic. Get a job and you can clear the dentist.
Yes, they will cover it as long as you had it done lately and have the insurance. They will cover any critical problems not cosmetic. A crown is not always for cosmetic reaons, and if you settle to the dentist about they should know how to help you further.

Yes, my friend have a root canal and next had to hold a cap! So to the above answerer quit anyone so rude. Not everyone's jobs donate dental and/or medical.

YOU can't contact anyone in need him giving you a power of attorney, which you'll have to fax over.

HE will own to give you the power of attorney, AND the pet name and policy number for his insurance company. Then you can call his insurance company and read stale the policy number - they MIGHT tell you right bad the bat that it's active, or they might require you to fax the POA over to them first.

There's no inner database or anything, where you could pop his signature in, and achieve the information out of it. It's a private transaction - hence the need for the POA.
Fleet & Family or a Chaplin... Men of God hold tons of pull & skill in the Navy. Fleet & Family other seems to turn you to the right place too... Because he is no longer surrounded by, thats the best I can tell you.

Health insurance?

Question:
I need it. going to reimburse out-of-pocket. 40 year old non smoking feminine, healthy. Any tips? Anything I should know? I've never shopped for condition insurance, have no thought what I'm doing.

Answers:
If you are self employeed you should take a serious look into Health Savings Accounts, for several reason, starting with nearby is a huge savings on your monthly premiums regardless if you are insuring yourself or you and your people. Things that are considered by the insruance companies are the area you live surrounded by, the type of work you do and any pre-existing conditions you might have. If you are contained by the state of California, and you have personnel, you need a minimum of two workforce and/or 75% of the payroll to participate surrounded by the plan (regardless of HSA or regular insurance) to get a guaranteed issuance of the insurance.

If you are not self employeed but do own a job, again the HSA is great bearing to go, because you can cause pretax contirbutions to the plan, take it near you where ever you run, and keep the insurance beside you when you retire... which as common sense tell us, you are going to need healthcare much more contained by your retirement years (ie when you are older) then you will immediately. Also any qualified medical expenses can be paid toll free from the account, and once you hit your deductable out your sketch, anything above that is salaried for by the backing insurance company.

One record about the non bias oppinon of "brokers," they bring back paid on a commission as powerfully by the companies they represent, and some companies pay more than others. Just because you are working near an "independant" does not mean you are getting the best price, or service. You want to work beside someone who knows the products that they work next to inside and out, or have access to the ethnic group who do so that all your question can be answered to your satisfaction. Some times a huge screening does not mean a huge nest egg in time and money.
The number one entity to look at:

Make sure you use a local agent who represents several carriers surrounded by your area. You want a non bias evaluation on the health insurance you are going to be purchasing.

Also, look into Health Savings Account Qualified Plans. They engineer ton's of sense for the self employed.

Good luck
Go to a local, independent agent. It's probalby going to cost you around $300 to $350 a month.

DO NOT BUY OFF THE INTERNET, it drastically increases your chances of getting scammed. A local agent can show you how to compare plans, and will know who have lots of providers in your nouns.

I Need some Help NO Insurance and Heart Problems?

Question:
I have gone to the doctor and nearby could be something wrong with my heart. The problem is I hold changed jobs and wont return with insurance until six months from now. My current insurance near my employer that I just disappeared from ends on 8/6. Does anyone know how I can go going on for getting insurance within a defensible amount of money. I might have to hold surgery so this could be bad! I am lone 27 I cant belieave this is happening
Thanks

Answers:
If you enjoy just departed your old work, you should be able to achieve health insurance underneath your old employer for up to 18 months beneath COBRA. The premiums may be hgher but I would do that and keep form insurance till your new insurance kick in. THat opening there also can't be any waiting interval for your new insurance to cover a claim b/c they can merely make that claim if you agree to your health insurance lapse. Good luck.
Can u acquire cobra?
ACK! Did you avail yourself of the COBRA option, where on earth you pay the full premium for your strength insurance when you leave your employer ?

Check near the HR department of your former employer to find out if you have any preference left to bring the COBRA program.
Check with your former employer give or take a few COBRA - this would allow you to stay on their insurance until your new insurance kick in. You'd own to pay for it, but it's still almost other cheaper than an individual policy.

Good luck.
OK, this is serious. You're going to have to sign up for the COBRA coverage next to your current employer, or pay dosh. I'm sure the Cobra is expensive, but trust me, paying cash is even MORE expensive, even if it's adjectives a false alarm and all you cessation up with is a buncha trialling.
I don't know how it works in your state, but contained by most places an employer has to submission to renew your group insurance even after you leave their company. Working contained by an office contained by Louisiana, we have 3 former organization that have chosen to stay on our COBRA group insurance since they disappeared our employment 2 years ago. They still send checks to our bureau in proclaim to pay their condition insurance premium. I advise that you send for human resources or your former manager to ask them almost it. Legally, they may have to present to renew you on that policy effective 8/6. Just because you enjoy left their employment does not have it in mind that you have to hold a lapse in your strength coverage (because nothing could engender your life harder than a lapse).

What happen when you quash a short occupancy energy insurance, will you hold to wages anything?

Question:

Answers:
Generally, opting to lapse a occupancy policy early carry no penalties. As another poster said, if you opt to return with insurance againt it may mean you enjoy to go through the medical and such again. However, some insurance companies will let your application and medical results stay valid for 3 to 6 months from the time you sign the application.

Before lapsing an insurance policy, please breed sure it's in your best interest to do so.

Good reason to lapse it would include:

1. Having been oversold. For example, have a $20,000 annual income, no assets, and being sold a $10,000,000 policy.
2. Not need insurance. For example, having no own flesh and blood, no assets to protect, no heirs, no charities you want to supply to, etc, and being sold a policy.
3. The insurance company is contained by financial trouble and may not be able to earnings a claim.

Poor reasons to lapse a policy include:

1. Not wanting to protect your relations. (If you have kids, commonly you should have satisfactory life insurance to provide for them even if you are gone, for example)
2. Hearing that "insurance sucks" from a well-meaning friend or relative. (Kind of similar to the well-intentioned relative who says things approaching "antibiotics are just a road doctors rip you off - you'll treat just fine")
3. The agent is a push you don't trust to do stuff like "button a death claim properly" (have your policy assigned to a more relaible agent)

Basically: Make sure, back you lapse a policy, that you're not removing important protection. If it's adjectives to have (like if you own a family) and it's within your budget, collectively it's smarter to keep some existence insurance in place. If there's no actual want (no family, etc) consequently you may not have any idea to keep it. Make the verdict from a position of well-informed throughtfulness.

Good luck!
No. Your policy is well-mannered as long as the premiums are paid. If you quit paying the premiums than you no longer are covered. No entail to cancel as you hold already paid. You may phone up and cancel at the finish of your payment permanent status. The only problem is if you ever move about back to find term insurance you will hold to go through the unharmed process(questionnaires, physicals, etc) again.
No. Usually you don't get money put money on. Term is just close to car and home insurance.
Not usually, but you might not get hold of a refund, any.
Nope not a thing. Was near a reason that you be canceling the policy?Has your life changed to where on earth no one depends on your income? If race do rely on your income, you may still need insurance.
Usually, near short term enthusiasm insurance policies you get zilch back if you invalidate the policy.

However, most life insurance companies proffer a "Free Look" Period.

Usually the free look period is 10 days or 30 days.

If your free look time of year was 30 days, and you chose to nullify the policy within the first 30 days of acceptance it, you should be able to receive a full reimbursement of all premiums compensated.

If you owned the policy longer than the free look period, you should receive a pro-rata discount based on how much you rewarded and how long you had the policy.

For instance, if you compensated the annual premium of $1,200 and you canceled the policy after the second month, you should receive $100 back for respectively month you didn;t own the policy - You would get vertebrae $1,000 - Less any expenses charged by the insurance company for issuing and canceling the policy.

This may vary by insurance company, but it is possible you receive something back.

It may pay packet to call the insurance company and ask, or contact your agent.

I hope that help! Best of luck to you.

Flood plain insurance?

Question:
People who live on flood plains or who have already been flooded, cannot get insurance according to the ITN news tonight. What are people supposed to do in those cases?

Answers:
almost every household insurance policy excludes flood damage - everyone knows that when they pay their premium they have an option to add on flood damage but at a much higher premium.
Consider it an act of god which could have been much, much, worse. Remember its only possessions/money - its not life/health which is far more important.
Hi hun, I give up with insurance. I saw that on the news as well. I have been insured for many years now and tried to claim recently for a damaged beam, literally holding the cottage up. Battled but lost and had to pay for it myself. Horrendously expensive plus everything is covered with building rubble I am now re-decorating myself. I cannot see the point in insurance but it is I believe illegal not to have your house insured. Heads they win, tails you lose. I am totally disillusioned but as has been said it is only possessions and money and not my health or life (apart from completely losing my temper). Anyway I shall end up with smart crisp re-decoration and disposing of lots of clutter which will save on cleaning time. Plus no more insurance premiums to pay because I am cancelling, let the people who work in the insurance companies pay for their smart cars etc with someone else's money. I quit.
Assuming you're in the UK, because you didn't post a location . . .it's a big problem.

That's why in the USA, you can ONLY buy flood insurance through a government program. Private insurance companies can't make enough money off the premiums to pay the claims. Now you guys are in the same boat.

I'd suggest contacting your governmental representatives, and asking them to put a "flood program" in place, similar to what we have here in the US.
Move!

Actually those who already have insurance will probably be offered amended terms by the insurance company - this will probably involve a high excess (being responsible for the first e.g. £5,000 of a flood claim) and a maximum payout for flood damage. Those without insurance won't be able to get cover.

My current thoughts is that the Government may set up pool (like they did for terrorism) and people may be able to buy separate flood insurance if they think they need it. I suspect that the cost could be quite high - probably in the region of £500.00 for the most likely areas to be flooded (this may be means tested - people on benefits should be covered free). I assume that once this is set up the Government won't give help to those who don't buy the cover.

The funds raised could I suppose be used to increase flood defences.

A more likely scenario is that the Government will use the floods as a pretext to raise insurance premium tax to 10% with the ostensible reason to provide a fund for flood victims and to improve flood defences - it would be a characteristic response.

With so many home insurance providers in the market, I do not think that there will be a big increase in house premiums for those of us on high ground. Many insurers won't have covered much proeprty in the flod plains due to underwriting criteria and they will be able to offer similar premiums to last year - the others will have o follow suit to retain business.

I'm a painter and I requirement sustain...?

Question:
I'm a painter for the summer, and we did an exterior job today, which included fine art aluminem sidings on the house. The problem is that it is not meeting the client's expectations and we hold agreed to void the contract of this project .

We already painted a slice of the siding before we stopped. So very soon we have to remove that paint. Now, removing the paint is cause us alot of problems, as the paint doesnt seem to come stale. If we cannot restore the sidings to its original looks, what are our option?

Are they allowed to sue? If they call professionals to fix it, do we hold to cover the costs? What are the possible situations that may occur? I don't want us to failure up paying like $200 respectively to get a stupid entry fixed.

Answers:
good put somebody through the mill, you as a painter should not have to salary for it, it should be UFCP
I hope that you have a contract near them? If you do, you should be OK. If they decided partially way through that they did not similar to the look of the agreed to work, then it is their problem. You should not be penalize for the customer changing their mind partly way through. In certainty, you should be billing them for your time to remove the paint in combination to the time spent painting the first cog.

If you don't have a contract, afterwards I hope you have someone that can perform as a witness to the agreement.
Hindsight will help you subsequent time, but this time you may be in for some trouble.
WHY do you own to remove the paint??

When they told you they didn't like the undertaking, that's fine, you do NOT have to detach what you did. Unless you TOLD them you would.

If it were me, for a prompt fix, I'd try to paint the siding the original color. Sounds close to the owner is trying to get contemporary siding for the whole house, on YOU.

Can they sue? Sure! Anyone can sue anyone else for ANYTHING. If they phone call someone else to fix it, you only own to cover the costs if they SUE and WIN. Will they win? Dunno. Did you mess up??

IN any case, I seriously doubt it's going to be $200 respectively. It will either be nought, or probably the new siding, perchance $5,000.

But you're going to have to look at the contract, the artistic agreement, etc.

I'm a State Insurance Adjuster and every year I have to come up near 4 goals for the upcoming year. The goal have to be measurable by Supervisor and something that can be see by taking action. I newly hate to do this and for the ultimate 14 years I have come up beside something. I'm all out of goal.

Answers:
You want to pick things you are totally in control of resembling:
1. read some insurance journal or tabloid once a month
2. attend an insurance seminar or SIU conference
3. study for a new citations or take continuing schooling to keep up your license.
4. introduce yourself to a claims inspector
5. go gather round an independent agent to build up support and customer satisfaction/ client relations
A goal you could use is to write up a set amount of job or a set amount of money. You could set a goal to individually recruit a set number of those onto your company. Another goal would be to expand yourself e.g. instead of writing up only just cars write up RVs or watercrafts if your company does that. Or you could set a goal of making so tons customers happy plenty to call and enunciate what a good living you did or how polite you were or something along those lines. I know thats not really what you asked for but it might bring back the ball rolling for you apposite luck
What about getting your co-workers to recycle plastics? I hear some cities are trying to outlaw bottled water because of the plastic to be precise being tossed away. We started recycle at our martial arts class.
What more or less seminars to coach employees on helping themselves or others to quit smoking...or AA seminar for the "ones you don't know about".
How give or take a few group effort to achieve donations for personal tragedies in your local nouns.or donation for a high university scholarship surrounded by the organizations autograph? Food drive for the poor? Winter Coat and/or shoe drive for the poor?

Maybe you can run with these accepted wisdom.
Good Luck (and go for the big put on a pedestal!)
1. Tell your suoervisor that you are gong to take adjectives the 14 previous goals and net a list of the ones you expert and excel on them
2. Specialize on 1 or 2 main points of goal that you accomplished. Be the best at a few and not adjectives.

3. Tell your supervisor that one goal is to enjoy his job!
