Rental Units contained by the State of NY?

Question:
Do the State of New York have a website for Insurance Commission on something close to that? If someone owns rentals units within a city dont they have to submit an insurance warrant of the rental unit to the Planning and Zoning contained by the city. I know other states have some helpful of Insurance commission. NY probably have alike kind of system, but basically a different name. Would anyone know what the website would be? Thank you

Answers:
No the simply thing the planning and zoning wishes insurance for is to pull permit - and they want the insruance of the general contractor.

You can't find out who have the insurance on a rental property. It's private information.

Yes, NYS has an insurance commissioner. No, they don't track policies. You'll own to ask the landlord or super who their insurance company is. Not that it will do you any moral, as they won't accept a third participant claim. They won't even talk to you.
Try this: http://www.ins.state.ny.us/

I suggest going to the "Contact Us" page and giving someone a ring up at the dept. of insurance.

How Do I Negotiate With a Hospital On The Price of Giving Birth?

Question:
I am due in February and my doctor told me he deliver at two hospitals and told me which one was the better one. He said I needed to take a quote from this hospital and then catch a quote from every other hospital in town. Then, he said I could negotiate near them to get them to defeat the best price. Does anyone know who I talk to contained by a hospital to do this and how I go in the order of doing it? I got the quotes, it's the negotiate that is the problem. If I screw this up I don't own another chance. Yikes!

Answers:
You christen the billing department. Keep in mind, I did a price check on our local hospital, and you payment for EVERYTHING seperately. The OB with prenatal consideration for me was $3800. The hospital for me and the toddler was $6800 near only ONE overnight. The anesthesia is $900. ASSUMING NOTHING GOES WRONG.

Then you ask them if they own a prepaid discount, if you get it adjectives paid sour before you move about into labor. But the hospital billing department is ONLY going to worry more or less the $6800. You ALSO have pediatrician, anesthesia, and glory forbid you have a c clause, YIKES!

I compared that to a trained, licensed midwife with a home birth - $3800 here, next to a $700 discount if you're paid beforehand week 36, including ALL prenatal care and trialling. AND, here in HOuston, the midwife homebirths are SAFER than the hospital births.

You ALSO might want to consider a BIRTHING CENTER.
The price is the price. No hospital will negotiate near you.
not what you want to hear but if you lived in British Columbia. its free. we retribution $ 96.00 a month for medicare for two people. Hospitals are free. low income procure free medicare.. Good luck, By the way BC is booming in a minute. the Olympics are comming. Coast Mountain bus is 600 drivers short they pay $25.00 per hour. assist wanted signs adjectives over
You should talk to someone contained by the Patients Accounts department or just ring the operator at the hospital and ask to be transferred to the billing department, or explain to the hand what you are trying to do and they will get you to the correct department. Once you bring back the prices negotiate with the hospital that you similar to the most by telling them the prices that you would be paying at another hospital for one and the same services.

Hope this was compliant
If you have insurance, nearby is no negotiation on your part, the insurance deal with that.

If you're paying for it yourself, next you get the quotes and later pick a hospital, call them to tolerant accounts and ask if there will be any discount for a self-paying forgiving.
If you can do it, offering cash up front can bring down the price significantly. Hospitals hold lots of costs in doomed to failure debt collection, and you are guaranteeing that they won't have those near you.

Also, find someone who has an HMO and have given birth lately. Review their statements and see how much they get remunerated by the HMO. That should give you a instigation basis for negotiation.

-->Adam
I assume you don't own medical insurance? If you do, costs are already negotiated and agreed upon between the hospital and your insurance company. You won't be involved contained by any negotiations.

If you DON'T hold insurance - most hospitals are not going to aggressively negotiated their fees next to you. Truly, it doesn't make any difference to them if you hold your baby here, or at another hospital across town. You should choose the hospital based on its reputation and the attention it will provide to you and your infant. Personally, I'd go near the one your doctor said was the better one. He should know. Then once you brand your decision, contact the hospital and try to work out a suitable contribution plan.

Good luck!

Should we hold intact existence insurance?

Question:
My husband is 26 yrs old and he bought adjectives life insurance. I tried to report him to get occupancy sicne we are so young, but he wouldn't listen. Can anyone sustain me?

Answers:
whole natural life is the most expensive way to buy the lowest coverage.

Sit down with him, and WRITE DOWN THE GOAL. What's the POINT of have the insurance?

Now, think. Is here a CHEAPER way to acheive that purpose? For most people TERM insurance is cheaper within the long run, AND the short run, if you invest HALF the difference.

You need to get hold of him to listen to Dave Ramsey.
Husband often hold hearing problems, within isn't any help for it.
If you hold your other financial matters within order and can glibly afford the amount of whole time he needs, knock yourself out. Most immature people that I know who buy unbroken life are drastically underinsured because they couldn't afford the amount of insurance they really needed. The amount of insurance determines the check that shows up at the door when he pass away, not the type of insurance.
Whole Life policies serve one purpose for a 26 year old insured. the largest commission for the agent. And i.e. it. This is coming from a licensed insurance agent.

A long term (30 year) policy would be perchance 85% cheaper in premiums near the difference being used to fund Roth IRA accounts. Who requests a permanent policy that pays 4% interest, annually re-setting mortality expenses and a sky glorious premium relative to a term policy.

If you bought it drastically recently, request the 10 year free look, get adjectives of your money back, buy a residence for twice the face amount, still spend roughly a quarter of what you would have on the WL, and invest the rest within a tax free Roth for your retirment. WL for a 26 year matured. that agent should be ashamed of themself. Its the same humane of guy who sold your grandmother a 12 year fixed annuity paying 4% interest to her and a 9% commission to him. Criminal.
for your case i will suggest

1. relook at the total insurance requirement. He want to have an insurance amount of at most minuscule 5 times of his annual salary

2. add the loan o/s ie mortgages, credit card..

3. future training fees for children??

4. Medical insurance ??

5. Critical Illness coverage (5 x salary )??

6. Personal Accident coverage (5 x salary)??

Add the above sum assured and see how much protection he requirements.

This will assist you to set the priority right. With the lowest premium and the best coverage. In the long run he should be able to see the big picture.

Tips : To convince a man you requirement to use logic. Let the logic sink into his mind first and the rest will come in automatically
Well, it adjectives depends on how you present it to him. If you persuade him to buy some 30 year residence and have a reliable plan on what to do once the residence has expired, Im sure he will listen.

My insurance settle for my truck but my hill say's i still own 6,000 dollars of interest?

Question:
well i total my truck but presently my bank say that i still need to payment 6000 worth of interest so i dont know what to do im need to bring into a car but i still enjoy to pay for my other truck but does this propose i have to salary the same amount that i pay packet for my truck payment or smaller quantity

Answers:
You, like lots other people, owed more money on your frail truck than the vehicle was worth. This happen when you don't put anything down on a vehicle, and take out a 6 year loan.

Your track out has nil to do with rolling the harmonize into a new loan. This is merely lead you into more problems. Go out and seize yourself a junker, and drive it for the next year while you take the old truck compensated off. Then verbs driving it until you can put at least 5% down on your subsequent vehicle, and no six year loans. If you can't pay it contained by 5 years, you can't afford the vehicle.

One final thought is on gap insurance. This help cover the difference between what the vehicle is worth, and what is owed on it. If you must buy a vehicle with zilch down, then receive gap insurance. You are paying for your downpayment over time. But you are still better bad saving for a downpayment.
that doesn't nouns right, if the insurance company paid sour the truck then it is no longer individual financed so there would be no more instrest. contact your insurance company, see what they say aloud and you can call other bank and see if they agree with what your ridge is doing.
you still have to wages the bank. it may be possible for the mound or another bank to involve the 6k into a new vehicle loan. this will depend on your credit and debt-to-income ratio. this time when you buy a car also acquire "gap insurance" from the lender. if you would hold had this on your truck loan the mound would have compensated off the 6k for you.
You may own owed more than the truck was worth so you owe the difference. Try not to roll this into a exotic loan but keep it separate. Buy a used coup¨¦ as cheaply as you can until you pay bad the truck.
Hmm.. Here's what i think. The 6,000 may not adjectives be interest. it may be whats left owing after the insurance company compensated.

For example: most people are "upside down" contained by their cars right now. Meaning you owe more than what your saloon is worth. Your insurance only pays the "actual lolly value" of the vehcile, not the amount you owe. So if you owe 15,000 and your car is with the sole purpose worth 10,000. You will still owe 5,000.

UNLESS. You have GAP insurance, Then your GAP insurance will reimburse the 5,000. Go back and check your settlement statement from when you bought the truck, you may own bought gap coverage. Many dealer add it on whether you know or not.

If the 6,000 truly is simply interest.. I'd demand they distribute you a full detail on how they come up with those numbers. it may or may not be correct, but 6,000 interest is plentifully!

And you would actully end up paying smaller number interest in this overnight case than if you made every payment, because unsophisticatedly you are paying off the loan precipitate.

Hope this helps.
It sounds similar to you owed more on the truck than it was worth at the time it be totalled by the insurance company, and that the $6000 you owe is not interest, but the difference between what the insurer compensated and what your outstanding loan balance is. Had you have 'gap insurance', this would have be covered. Sounds like you didn't, so you owe the difference to the edge.
Oh, if you get another loan and roll the $6,000 into it, your expenditure will go up, unless you get hold of a cheaper truck.

If you DON'T make arrangements or repay off the stability on the loan, you're probably not going to be able to acquire another loan for a while.

Bill from collection agency? sustain!?

Question:
they say I took my son to the hospital 3yrs ago, they can give an account me the date and amount $375... but they cant tell me what hospital i "supostably" took him to, aphorism hospitals dont release that information, A HOSPITAL NAME!? I might have, I of late dont remember, if I knew the defence, and name of the hospital Id be capable of contact my insurance company.

What can I do to find out what hospital is comming from?

this is the first letter I grasp from this bill. no FINAL NOTICES or anything else.

Answers:
If the collectors are being difficult, see if you can remember who your employer be at the time of the visit. try calling them and ask if they know what the insurance company moniker was at the time of the call in.

p.s. the fair debt collection accomplishment says they HAVE to disclose who the originator of the debt is... I infer this is nation wide.
Disclosure Which Must Be Given to You by Debt Collectors

Debt Verification: Within 5 days of the collector's first communication next to you, they must send you a written discern containing:

* The amount of the debt.
* The name of the creditor to whom you owe the debt.
* A statement that inwardly 30 days after you have received the perceive you can dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof.

* A statement that if you request it in writing inside 30 days of receiving the distinguish, the collector will provide you with the signature and address of the original creditor if it is different from the present creditor.
emergency they show u what hospital, or just deny pocket money on the bill until they prove it is indeed a valid debt u incurred.

http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/...
Just tell them that they requirement to provide you with further proof of the debt. If they can't relate you the hospital, date of treatment etc. then the debt is not valid.
They can release the baptize of the hospital. There is no reason for them not to.
I wouldn't promise them one red cent till they provide you near more information. If they start harassing you, send them a certified dispatch asking for them not to contact you by phone on the matter. If they verbs after that then report them.
That is wrong, I used to work for a collection agency. They enjoy to know who hired them!! What a stupid thing to voice. Send something in writing that say you dispute the bill and need more info. I would convey it certified so you have proof you did so. See what happen then.
I agree beside the rest too. I work for an insurance company, handling outstanding medical bills and know that we REQUIRE what is called an "itemized bill" up to that time we will pay anything. They must present this to you- it make no sense to pay for something you're not aware of.

Good luck!
Look over the paperwork they did dispatch you. Look for phone numbers and ways to contact them directly. Tell them they legally hold to provide you with that information. next , make copies of these things, keep hold of black and white records of your every conversation and name of people you own talked to. Then, you stipulation to contact your local attorney general and own them help you out, because you might be a target of a scam, or even the collections company could be a victim and not know it. You hold to be provide with everything, the amount, what be done, who did it, the doctor on duty I mean, the afternoon and the hospital that actually saw your son. Don't distribute money now, if you are self scammed, then adjectives these people really want is an details number to clean you out. If you start to capture the run around, inform them you are collecting your own evidence and will talk it to the attorney nonspecific. Good Luck. Oh, You don't have to play nice any. Be assertive but not rude. Always keep your cool even when you want to read aloud worse.

Rental sports car insurance?

Question:
Never rented a car beforehand, what are my ins. options? I dont want to salary the rental place for ins. (Hertz). I have Geico for my coup¨¦ ins. does that cover a rental also? Plus if I pay next to a credit card does CCs for coverage for rentals?

Answers:
generally your vehicle insurance will cover you in a rental sports car in the United States, but check your announcement pages to be sure. Your deductable will still apply. Most credit cards will proffer secondary coverage near your car insurance person primary, but again, call the 800# on the card to acquire specifics, do NOT assume. It is worth the time to check into it as you can save $30 a hours of daylight in insurance charges at the motor rental counter. Oh, and once you have verified it adjectives yourself, do not believe a thing the desk clerk tell you, they are paid per insurance demand they sell. As long as your motor ins. and CC check out ok, decline everything.
Ask at geico.com -- if you have comprehensive insurance, it does cover the rental motor. You can even add comprehensive insurance to your regular policy if you don't have it, and after you rent the sports car then drop the extra insurance (as long as you're lately doing it once)
some credit cards will provide the insurance if you use the card to rent the car, but you have better check with the card company first -- hail as the number on the back of the card to ask.
You don't stipulation to get the ins. your coverage from your insurance company covers you for a rental because to be precise your primary car at the time. newly call your agent to verify.
If you've already get an insurance, you don't need to seize one at the rental place, but it won't cover the car you're renting, it will solely cover you, other and passengers. I usually don't transport their insurance.
Actually.. despite what some people deliberate on here. It's split about 50/50. Some companies do cover rental vehicle up to but it epnds on the type of coverage you have, and the company.

Check beside, and get the identify of a rep at Geico.

Many companies dont transfer coverage because that mechanism you are covering a 99 ford focus. but driving around in a 07 Ford mustang convertible.. you see the issue here? Your paying for coverage on a 5,000 motor but driving a 28,000 car, next to higher risk factor. Just an example.

And those Credit card things are so wishy washy... i wouldnt rely on them verry much. It's there to seize you to take the card, not to protect you.
Do not count on your own policy extending to a rental unless you can if truth be told read it in the wordings. If it isn't in attendance, it isn't covered. Many policies only extend your liability, not collision or upset. Some credit cards extend physical interrupt coverage, almost none of them cover liability. You have your wordings, protect yourself by reading them, or you could extension up with the utility of a car billed to you surrounded by the event of an accident, or, at the severely least, the cost of any downtime.

To the putz who thought it be funny to give my answer a thumbs down, I speak this: do you actually thinking reading the insurance policy wordings is poor suggestion, or are you just a clod? I am a licenced insurance broker, I hold dealt beside many thousands of clients, some of who enjoy been too dumb to read and finished up following the advice of a friend or neighbour, after regretting it. Bottom line is, the insurance policy wordings will narrate you if the rental car is covered, and what for. The booklet from the credit card company will report to you if there is any coverage on the card for a rental sports car.

Is foresighttpa a scam?

Question:
So I'm at home and my mom calls me to terminate her insurance and gave me a bunch of ID numbers. So I call and a guy picks up. I asked to cancel and he said I'd hold to fax a letter to them next to the ID number to cancel it. I asked if nearby is a website and he said no you'd have to fax contained by a letter to rescind it. I didn't even ask that. So I'm very suspicious in a minute and searched for the their number and found a website. http://www.foresighttpa.com/fsusingfores...
I even search for the name and single this site came up which made me even more suspicious. I tried to progress to the main page by removing whats after the / but it say that it is currently unavailable but you can browse the total site if you directly put in the address lacking going to the main page. On one of the page it says surrounded by bold "FORESIGHT TPA IS NOT INSURANCE" but when my mom called she refered to it as insurance. What within the world did my mom get into?

Answers:
You're dealing beside Foresight TPA.

TPAs (third party administrators) process claims for medical plans that are self-funded. Self-Funded manner there's no insurance company involved - your mom's employer actually pays the claims from their own budget, and the TPA does the thesis work (processes the claim, issues the payment, etc.). TPAs close to to declare that they are NOT insurance companies because that vehicle that typical insurance laws don't apply to them. But rest assured, TPAs are completely lawful and handle several, many medical plans for employer throughout the country. Personally, I've worked for 2 different TPAs in my professional ancient.

Is this medical coverage through your mom's employer? If so, she should be cancelling the coverage by working near her HR department, NOT dealing directly with the TPA. But if for some root she must work with the TPA instead, it's faultlessly legitimate to dispatch the requested info to the guy at the TPA. Just make copies of everything you convey, and keep righteous records.

I know that can be pretty boring stuff. My keys to ratification the tests be to read and reread. It also helps if your company have a study group as well. I be lucky, my boss already had his CPCU an be able to run over what the questions may be. If you own that then I would instil you to focus on those question. By the track I am in Ohio your neigboring state. I would also right down push button questions on index cards and memorize. Good luck to you.

Insurance claim?

Question:
Scratched car?
while going to the ridge i parked my car contained by a short stay free car park i brimming with up fine. On returned to my car as i have forgot something there be a different car parked subsequent to mine on returning from the bank in that was a notification on my window blind which wasnt there up to that time saying i have scrached the persons saloon and they would be in touch beside the insurance. I Know i have not cut into anyones car by the passageway i parked my car i go it to the first space and then go forward into the next. Also if i have scracth someones car i would hold left a not next to my details on it or drove off not stayed parked thereI hold no scratchs on my car any the person have not left any of at hand details so i cannot contact them. Will my insurance pay them even though within is no proof

Answers:
I wouldn't worry something like it. There is no database about who your insurance company is. I'm sure that they believe that they are going to follow up near you. They will end up file through their company.

If they ever do contact you, they have to proof you basis the damage. It really is glib to prove. When vehicles sliver, they exchange paint. If your paint isn't on their vehicle, you didn't cause the mess up.
Depends. Do You Have Liability or Full Coverage?
With no police report, the insurance company will most likely dispute this claim. The other bit of that. If they did not personally collaborate with you, they hold no way of knowing which insurance company that you use.
No, they shouldn't.

Take photos of your vehicle, though, date/time stamped, to show no damage right immediately.

There is no way for the other character to track you down. They can't find out your name from your plate, or your insurance company.

Their insurance company isn't going to switch it, either, as scratch are under the collision deductible.

So I would appropriate photos "just surrounded by case", and not worry roughly this.
Probably not. Unless there be big-time damage, and even consequently, it needs to be proven that you be the one who did it. I would fight it tooth and fastener - as your insurance will - and unless there's a video showing it, I'm going to think the other personality is SOL.
I had a similar situation once - I be trying to get into a parking spot once, and this other motor was over the vein, and I bumped it with mine - I nick up the bumper, no dent or anything - did more damage to my coup¨¦ than the other one. I found the woman, exchanged info. She got an estimate and since it be so small, the body shop and the insurance told her it wasn't worth pursuing.
First they need to contact you to achieve your insurance information.

Just in luggage, write down everything that you can remember and save the record.

If your insurance company is somehow contacted, they will get within touch with you to find out your side of the story. That is where on earth you can tell them you own no clue.

I wouldn't worry around it.
If your insurance company calls you inquiring nearly this, tell the truth and deny that it ever happen. If there is no police report or evidence to prove that this incident happen, your insurance company will believe you and deny their claim.
As a claims adj I would take my insured side (yours) unless here is an independent witness to support otherwise. Independent means someone that does not know any party.
A few things here:

1. It doesnt event what type of coverage you have.
2. They CAN can your insurance info, adjectives they have to do is turn to the police with your tag# and it can be tracked contained by many states. (ins. companies are required to electronically submitt the cars they cover to the state surrounded by many states.)
3. I agree almost taking date stapmed pictures.
4. Call you ins co and let them know that it;s coming.

5. If the other knees-up cant prove it, they wont pay...

Hope this help.
You're company will dispute that claim. There's no police report, they might have a short time ago pulled your car out of the atmosphere. They might just want someone else to income for a scratch they lately noticed the other morning and they have no notion where they get it. I'm willing to bet they receive nought. If there wasn't even a police report there's nought to even support the claim that both your cars were even within that parking lot at the same time.

Medical Billing Would and insurance company drop a doctor if he approved to drop his hourly tax for 1 merciful?

Question:
I was asked not long if a doctor had a $150 hourly excise for a POS service and decide to lower it for 1 long-suffering "in need" to right to be heard $30 what would happen. I believe that his credentialed Insurance companies would drop him. Can someone varify what would ensue?

Answers:
Dude, this entire forum if full of misinformation & contradiction. Here's what I know. Most doctor's insurance contracts state they have to bill their 'cash' patients one and the same amount the bill their 'insurance' patients. Changing your billed amount or failing to collect copays & deductibles is call FEE FORGIVING. This is considered fraud surrounded by most circumstances.

If a docs contracts & private pay duty schedules are on a sliding size; that's fine. As long as it slides the same agency for everyone who qualifies.

Yes... They can lose their insurance contracts. Yes, it can be reported to the BBB & the state board of medical examiners.
If the prospective long-suffering isn't covered by any of the insurers with which the doctor participate, it doesn't matter to the insurers what he or she charges this tolerant. All insurers care roughly speaking is what THEY have to recompense for a particular doctor's services. So no, the doctor cannot be dropped for lowering his or her duty for a needy forgiving who has no insurance.
Yes, they catch dropped. Especially if they take Medicare - they enjoy their pre-negotiated charge (and it's a flat fee, btw, not an hourly rate) per service. You HAVE to charge that flat payment for EVERY patient near that insurance, or you're in ruin of your contract with that insurance company, and can take cancelled. With Medicare, I believe you're also open to allowed prosecution - which means young offenders` institution and fines.
You don't really say - is the "tolerant in need" covered by insurance? If they are, in that shouldn't be any "need" for the doctor to adjust his fees. But if the patient doesn't enjoy insurance coverage, the doctor most certainly CAN adjust his payment to help out the tolerant. There wouldn't be any consequence, because the patient isn't affiliated next to an insurance plan, and the doctor can charge what he chooses.
actually the insurance company would be cheerful that he dropped his fee so they don't own to pay so much!! I've processed claims for Wellpoint (anthem) blue cross and blue shield for almost 9 years immediately.
if the provider is charging less than the negotiate rate then we reimburse a portion (depending on the policy 80%,70% etc..) of the billed charges/ negotiated rate (which ever is less) which would be smaller number for us to pay and we'd be bullish so to answer your question no they wouldn't take dropped!!

Why are auto repairs estimates different when asked for persoanl repay vs. insurance earnings?

Question:
I always seem to be to get asked "if this will be personal recompense or insurance pay"? I asked what's the difference? they never seem to hold an answer for me. What's up?

Thank you

Answers:
Because if its insurance, many insurance companies enjoy negotiated a lower levy with the shop than you will be capable of get intuitively. If they go over that negotiate amount, then the insurance may not hold them on their "preferred" list anymore. They dont meticulousness about screw you, though.
It's the labor rate. Many body shops have a pre-negotiated lower labor rate next to certain insurance companies - much resembling managed vigour care have pre-negotiated payments for specific services.
For once I agree with the others..
Different body shops own different negotiated rates. What you may wan to do is explain to them that you would much to some extent get your vehicle fixed at their body shop, but other cost less, and ask them to look into dropping the rate surrounded by order to earn your business. Negotiate! Thats what claims adjusters do!

Can someone directory a claim on your homeowners insurance if...?

Question:
Can someone file a claim on your homeowners insurance if they be at your house and got hurt, but they be drinking and wrestling around?

Answers:
You are liable for any injuries that happen on your property so they COULD sue you. Your insurance company have a duty to defend you lower than your homeowners policy so they would provide a defense if this went adjectives the way to court proceedings. Keep within touch with your agent and the claims adjuster and brand name sure you communicate back and forth roughly speaking what is happening so that any issues that come up next to this can be handled straight away.

Good luck!
yes indeed. you are responsible to whoever is in your home and that includes drinking and wrestling
yes and heres a funny story a robber be trying to break into a mans house and fell bad the roof and broke his leg..he sued the insurance and WON
No, no one can "claim" on your homeowners other that you. They can, however, sue you and your carter should either settle or provide a defense for you...
No one can wallet a claim on a homeowners policy except the insured.

What they CAN do, is ask YOU to file the claim, and sue you for damages.

What can they procure? Likely, only "medical payments" which on the standard homeowners policy, is a no-fault coverage which pays medical bills simply, up to $500. And ONLY if you agree to file a claim beforehand they sue you.

They're welcome to try to sue you. But homeowners doesn't cover premeditated injury by a named insured, so it's not expected to pay ANY spasm and suffering or lost wages, even if a judge DOES find against you - which is dubious, as they be drinking AND wrestling.
People can always be paid a claim. Insurance companies can pay or deny.
