Should I consult my insurance more or less my roofing problem?

I live in a semi-detached home and am contained by the process of having my partly roofed/shingled. The problem is that it's a weird design and ideally, the next of kin (my neighbours) should be getting theirs done too but they are not interested. This is despite very compelling evidence/logic by the roofer (who is also a roofing inspector) that they are not individual doing a diservice to and potentially harming the integrity of their roof, but more to my concern, my roof too. Would forwarding this information to my insurance aid me or just impart them a reason to increase my insurance costs?

Who's culpability is it?

Answers:   since you do not own the partner there really is nil you can do. notifying your insurnace of this will with the sole purpose make them realize your home is a superior risk to insure...

A customer will not ask a banker to fix their decline credit card?

I don't think that you inevitability to notify your insurers as they are unlikely to cover anything relating to the design/maintenance of the roof. If what you are doing could result in your neighbours suffering wrong then that might be a matter fact you should notify your insurers give or take a few.
