My mom has two insurance plans: Medicare and Southwestern. The problem is she have bad arthritis and can just get around the house. She have fallen several times and have had to hail as people to back her up (sometimes she has have to wait for hours). I get the impression that she should have someone come to her home and check on her, possibly two or three times a weeks for several hours each. Also, possibly the person can give a hand bathe her and cart her to medical appointments and shopping. Would insurance pay for something close to this, say if the soul was a nurse? How can our people get the insurance to compensate for it? What are our options?
Thank you,
Pauley
Answers: Well it depends on her insurance. May want to phone call and make sure. They may not cover private duty nursing. If it be skilled care it'd diverge. You're wanting someone to come out and help her next to activities of on a daily basis living. I know medicaid will cover this.
HEALTH insurance doesn't pay for within home care. You're discussion about long occupancy care insurance.
In writ for the policy to activate, you usually hold to be unable to act certain functions. BUT, if she's at that stage right immediately, it's too late to buy the coverage.
DO beckon a local agent, and talk to them more or less the possibility of a long term prudence policy. She might not qualify at this point - but it might not be too late to buy one. Just be really, really sure you take exactly what is covered, at exactly what point, and exactly how much.
Call social services in your nouns and talk to them more or less it.
