What percentage of my income should i invest in my company's 401K?

Answers: For minimum you want to save as much as your company matches.. it varies from 2% to 6% normally..

For maximum - There is not one fits all answer for it. It depends on how much you want to get back from 401k at the age of 59 when you can withdraw from it (and hence how old you are currently) and how much is your salary...

You can use 401k calculator to calculate how much you will have by contributing different percentage of your salary when you 59 - you should use right precentage which meets your goals

You can use following calculator to estimate it..

http://www.money-zine.com/Calculators/Re...
You should put at least the amount to receive the maximum match from your company (if they provide one). So if they match the first 6% put at least 6%. The more you can do the better. The maximum is not 15%, this rule has changed. The maximum is $15,500 if under age 50, 50 and over can do $20,500. Also note you can not exceed 100% of earned income for the calendar year in a 401k, so if you only made $10,000 you can't do $15,500 only $10,000. Save as much as you can, its a great program, people should do at least 6-8% as a general rule.

Twice in the history of the stock markets in India single person succeeded in Manipulating the share prices on large scale. Ketan Parekh and Harshad Mehta get the dubious distinction of being the Stock Market Fraudsters.

Harshad Mehta : He was among the first to set up his own website to dispense tips. He had also built up a network of senior media managers who gave him the publicity and commissioned him as a columnist.

He also had powerful friends at the helm of the Bombay Stock Exchange with close connections to the regulator.
Typically, Harshad did not stop at dispensing tips. He had struck a deal to ramp up the prices of several stocks - among these were BPL, Videocon and Sterlite.

Ketan Parekh : The trading activities of Ketan Parekh and his associate entities reveal patterns of manipulations. He built large concentrated positions in select scrips such as HFCL, Zee Tele, DSQ Software and Global Tele. He could create and sustain such large positions by operating through a large number of entities across the exchanges. He also dealt extensively through CSFB Broking and also CSL Securities. There is also evidence of a nexus between him and promoters of some of the companies that provided large funding aggregating to around Rs 800 crore in January to March. These activities of Ketan Parekh and his associate entities aimed at creating an artificial market in certain scrips, amount to market manipulation and are violative of SEBI Act and Regulations.
Ketan Parekh also appears to have had a nexus with certain FII sub-accounts and OCBs, through which he has been able to carry out very large transactions in select scrips. The pattern and the manner of these transactions indicate the cornering of shares, circular trading, parking arrangements and structured arrangements leading to market manipulation.
Ketan Parekh and his entities have received substantial funds through the misuse of banking systems. These amounts as per the available evidence were Rs 1,200 crore in the last few months. There are indications that this money has been used in stock market operations aimed at market manipulation in certain scrips.
