Which savings bonds are better to invest in, EE or I ?
Answers: They are about the same currently, however, Congress passed a little known cap on the EE bonds that limits their maximum rate to 4% to any new bonds. As such, if inflation took off and Treasury yields soared, I bonds would soar and new EE bonds would hit 4%, old EE bonds would soar, but new ones will not.
I have both the I and EE. The rate on the I is allot more than EE. So if I had to recommend I would say I.

Both are a very poor choice. Neither offers a positive return when taxes and inflation are taken into account. Even the I bonds which are "inflation adusted" are very poor because the adjustment is an artificial amount based on artificial government data that has no relation with reality. The best of the poor options is T-bills.
