What is the highest yeilding bond and what does it yield and is it guranteed?

Answers: There are indeed bonds that are insured although not guaranteed. The closest thing you can come to a guarantee is a U S government bond, but I am not sure how much that guarantee is worth considering the collapsing value of the dollar.

Some of the financial institution bonds are yielding pretty good rates at the moment. There are junk bonds that are yielding pretty high interest rates also. Ford Motor bonds for example. No they are not guaranteed. Ford Motor Credit 7.25% 2011 are currently priced to yield 11.27%.

Washington Mutual 5% of 2012 are currently priced to yield 8.6%. They still carry an investment grade but that is of dubious value with this company. It is not in too good of health.

There are junk bond funds that are giving pretty high yields, above 10% but their annual total returns are pretty poor. Their assets keep loosing value.

Oh! I almost forgot. You can probably pick up CDOs for a song. Might be able to get a yield of 20+%
The nearest thing to a "guaranteed" bond is a U.S. Treasury bond.
