Whats the most lucrative way to invest $1,000?
Answers: Dan-
I want you to take about $20 of that and go over to your local used or half priced book store. Buy the following:
1) The Richest Man in Babylon
2) The Millionaire Next Door
3) Either The Only Investment Guide You'll Ever Need, or one of the Idiot's or Dummies Guides to Investing. (be sure its a new enough edition that it covers Roth IRA's).
Also I want you to set up a spreadsheet of your finances and budget. It can be fairly simple but do this...trust me.
Now why do I say all this, because I know nothing about you... your goals, your needs, your risk tolerances... and I bet you haven't thought of them either... one of the early posters was right, the potentially most lucrative is the lottery tickets... but your almost guaranteed of ending up with nothing, so its not really pratical advise. So what level of risk can you accept to get a certain amount of return? How long can you have the money invested? Do you have to have a certain amount for some need or goal at a certain point in time in the future? These are only a few of the questions you have to ask with respect to a particular investment.
lend it to me at real high interest rate and see if you get it back...that's lucrative.
no wait put it in the stock market tommorow and watch how much you lose.
even better find some crackpot that has "a great investment opportunity" and give it to him.
Some say that CD's are a good way to invest $1,000. I would also think about a good mutual fund. State Farm has one, also check out some stocks that have a good trend.
