For a school project. What would be some great stocks to buy over a 21 week period?

Answers: ESEA

Verasun Energy (VSE)

Both of the preceding are pretty volatile, and likely to move quite a bit in 21 weeks. At recent lows right now, so good chance they'll move up. Take a gamble.

Target (TGT): solid company, deeply discounted stock right now. Could perhaps move lower, depending on results of 4th qtr '07, but a lot of that fear is already priced in. Could rebound in the next 21 weeks, too.

Sirius Satellite Radio (SIRI): Another potential big mover, but could also be a loser. They have been trying to merge with XM, but has been stalled...was supposed to happen already, but hinges on govt. approval. If (it's a big if, but this is for class, right) they get the approval, it will do well. Trading below $3 a share right now, and could double or better if that merger approval comes from the feds (50/50 chance).any day now.

Anheuser-Busch (BUD): Beer stock. Making big pushes into China and also raising prices. Demand is high. If we go into a recession, alcohol companies always do well...Always (I know, smirk smirk, but it's very true).
As for animal stock I would recommend a goat,
The kids will enjoy to mow lawns and bring
grass to school every morning to feed it.
They will have fun in using the milk to make some
nice "cabichou" cheeses to be sold at the school
garden party next Spring. Yes, they need to age
a little, I mean not only the kids, but also the
cheeses.
On top of that, it will be less a gamble than to
sink schooling money into company's stocks.
Of course, you can call the goat "G00GLE" or
"Toyota" or "Gazprom" so that the kids feel
they are playing the stock market game.
Hope it will help.
.
Here are all my favorites. I think the best investment right now it Brazilian ethanol/sugar producer, Cosan, CZZ.

8% disc, would you invest?

A new company is offering 7.75% 3year compact disc. The company does not have the big signature like Fidelity or Bank of America but it is offering a great rate of return. Of course the company is offering a permitted contract guaranteeing 8% rate and principal back. Would you invest within this 7.75% CD?

Answers: If it's insured after I would. It's hard to find a rate that well brought-up, but I don't like the conception of losing my money.
Yes but not all you enjoy cause it will be tied up for 36 months

And the means of access the United States Money market is going very soon who knows what will appear in 3 years to a compact disc especially if you go into a finical crisis your self

Personally myself I'd hold on to my money in a fast retreve investment till things calm down
Keep it simple. There are CD's and here are CD's. Generally on think of CD's as one issued by bank and as a rule you have FDIC insurance bank up to $100k, and of course you could enjoy more than the $100K provided you break it down and you have multiple owners, etc, etc.

You dont say aloud enough, who issues the disc? Who is backing this compact disc?

I mean i would invest the 8% return is excellent but on the othe appendage one has to evaluate the risk.

If i know who is the issuer and like i could hold given you a pin point answer...do some research...in this sunshine an age 8% must and will carry risk, how much, to be precise what you have to evaluate .suitable luck
No, I wouldn't invest. In the current economic climate, bank do not offer FDIC insured CD's at that rate. There have to be some catch. Is this a US mound, or a Caribbean bank, or not a hill at all? If the company go bankrupt, what fitting is your guarantee? People don't offer 7.75% interest unless here is some risk.

See this link for the uppermost rate FDIC insured CD's. The rates are a lot lower.

Is it a U.S. edge, FDIC insured?
