Eport stock from Bolivia to UK, USA, Japan & Europe?
Hi does anyone know what goods manfuctured surrounded by Bolivia are imported to UK, USA & Europe. I enjoy moved to Bolivia and am looking for suppliers of these goods to develop the supply souk to the Middle East and the Asian markets. ( Not timber, gold ingots, tin, oil, gas, iron ore or any other fluent minerals found in Bolivia )Answers: I haven't come across Bolivian products contained by the UK. (Haven't G00GLEd for these either -you can do that of course). I lived within Bolivia 1997-9 and I think that the lone products made there worth speaking of are tourist artefacts (e.g., leather stuff with llamas embossed on them, woven pictures of rural community life etc); or clothing made from alpaca wool (jumpers and those conical cap some campo people wear). Everything else within Bolivia seems to be import from China or Brazil or is made in Bolivia but to such a low element that it could only be used locally.
I hear about a guy who be making leather mobile-phone holders and exporting these.
A lot of Germans were running little micro-businesses : I met a swiss or German inherited who were growing and exporting Echinacea; a German machinate was making and installing micro-hydro systems for use within remote villages and nearby was a restaurant/pottery shop in the neighbourhood Santa Cruz run by a German family..
Anyway, it would come across that you could sell alpaca wool clothing within the colder places like the Uk (but surrounded by the Middle-east?). ...had a speedy scan of G00GLE and it seems that companies design the clothes contained by the UK and then seize them made in south America. So conceivably 'designed and made by Bolivians' might provide some appeal?
I now run a small uk company and own imported clothing from China so I would consider attempting to set something up if you want to (I can organise the logistics). I ponder we would have to aim for some charitable of slightly 'unusual' product: an alpaca shawl or scarf or something (i.e., no need to verbs too much about have a range of sizes) or possible a set: shawl, scarf and gloves??. Let me know if that interests you.
