What happen to pertroleum stocks when the price go ups?

when the gas prices go up what happen to the stock price of the companies like bp or other gas companies. do they be in motion up or down.

Answers: Gasoline has an inelastic constraint curve. That means for a small correction in price the emergency doesnt change much. So gasoline sale wont drop off much beside a change contained by price and the stocks may be expected to rise with gas prices. This have its limits though. At some point prices will be too large for consumers to afford and when the economy slows after demand will drop sour.
They generally track the cost of fuel and crude grease.

Will the stock souk crash surrounded by 2008-2009?

Conspiracy!

Answers: Not sure there will be a crash but I believe the souk will not gain more than 5% this year. We are going thru a recession and only time will recount if we lose 15% or more this year.
Big time. Consumer spending is down and isn't going to come back anytime soon. The financial sector still have a TON more write downs to pinch, when half the through banks surrounded by this country are already insolvent. The dollar is crashing, Interest rates are going to start to rise on long term debt (inflation fears) which will lift up the cost of capital for companies. It's already impressively hard for companies to go and get capital.

It's going to go and get ugly.
