Mutual fund institutions collect money from investors and according to fund type they invest money to shares,bonds,debt,money marketplace. It is basically of 3 types,
1)Equity orient , 2)debt oriented and 3)Balanced fund(50% equity and 50% debt). Here fund commissioner prepares portfolio and invest the money. e.g- XYZ infrastructure fund,
the fund manager will invest the money collected through investor to BHEL,L&T etc infrastructure company.
Shares(equity)-
It is of two types- Primary market- IPOs
Secondary market- here trading(sell and buy) of shares can be done for this purpose they hold different exchanges like,National Stock exchange(NSE) ,Bombay stock Exchange(BSE) etc.
Only trading of timetabled company can be done through these exchanges.
Demat account- We can say it is a locker where on earth we can keep our shares contained by electronic form. If you have demat a/c you can invest surrounded by IPOs.
Trading account- To invest in lesser market trading picture is necessary. If you own this a/c then you can deal in your IPO, or can buy or sell shares.
