Anyone know why Croc's fwd PE is so low surrounded by relation to its 5yr growth?
fwd PE = 135yr growth = 25
Why is this?.. Please give adjectives answers. Thank you.
Answers: several reasons:
1) upcoming lawsuit (I believe, you may want to double check this)
2)people are worried that the little holie shoes that we know and love are just a obsession.
3)if we enter a recession crox' profit will drop 60%+ (when money is tight people wont buy a $30 duet of holie clogs)
as far as im concerned they are a risky investment for the next few months; when we capture a clearer picture of where the marketplace is headed afterwards you can decide at what price (and/or the time) and the amount that you want to buy. very soon if the market starts a concrete solid uptrend then possibly you will miss some gains, however, surrounded by a market approaching this it is better to be safe than sorry.
It's probably because the stock price have been crushed down in recent months due to a sucession of impossible news. This story be released by Reuters on January 7:
NEW YORK (Reuters) - The shares of Crocs Inc (CROX.O: Quote, Profile, Research), maker of the popular, brightly colored shoes, dropped more than 15 percent on Monday because its business have slowed so much employees be told to take a mandatory leave at the end of December, according to a recent word story.
Crocs shares have in a minute lost more than 61 percent since November 1, when it issued a disappointing fourth-quarter outlook. In the past 52 weeks, the shares be as high as $75.21 within October and as low as $21.67 last March.
Rebecca Engmann Darst, equity option analyst at Interactive Brokers Group, said the catalyst for Monday's stock move was a story contained by the Rocky Mountain News on Saturday that Crocs had instituted mandatory time off time for its workers in postponed December because of the slowdown.
The company did not return calls for comment.
The Niwot, Colorado-based company have faced a string of bleak news just this minute, including a recent European Union decision that ruled one of its patent invalid. Crocs said it is planning to appeal that decision.
Also, the shares be battered last October on consumer complaints the company's signature shoes, originally expected for boating or outdoors, are prone to catch on escalators and cause injuries.
Homework Help: Stock?
You purchased 300 shares of common stock on edge for $60 per share. The initial margin is 60% and the stock pays no dividend. What would your rate of return be if you get rid of the stock at $45 per share? Ignore interest on margin.Answers: This is a loss, not a profit and it's unquestionably not $2,700. The only piece margin allows you to do is leverage your investment (and increase your loss contained by this case).
Your total purchase price was $18,000, however you borrowed 60% on fringe ($10,800) so your capital be only $7,200
You enjoy to pay put a bet on that $10,800 no matter what the price is when you deal in, and when that price is only $45, your total Dutch auction price is only $13,500. After you settle up back the $10,800 you are singular left near $2700.
Since you started with wherewithal of $7,200, you now hold a loss of $4,500, or -62.5% return.
You are buying at margin
60% of $60 = $36
you enjoy bought at $36 per share
you are selling at $45 per share
your gain = $45-$36 = $9 (since we have to forget about interest).
Therfore
for 300 shares you will earn $9 X 300 = $2700
which you can give to me for solving your homework (hahaha only kidding)
