Investing Questions and Answers

What do mutual funds mean, interest rate cut, and tax cuts mean?

Answers: A mutual fund is a type of investment where you are investing in a group of stocks, instead of a single stock. The stocks may be selected for you by a investment manager ("active") or they may be part of a stock index ("passive"). Funds may also invest in bonds, and they work about the same.

The interest rate cut you've heard about is the Federal funds rate set by the Federal Reserve. It has a lot of impact on other financial facts of life like mortgage rates, etc., although sometimes that impact is diluted by other events.

A tax cut is just a reduction in the rate of taxes to be paid...it may be for individuals only, like your income tax, or for corporations, etc.

When you Make a Trade on TD Ameritrade, how long does the trade actualy pinch?

If i were to click 'place order' to buy or short market a stock, how long does it take after i click untill it is within my portfolio and I am profiting from it. People have told me 3 days, which seem slightly rediculas and people own told me 1 second. Also is there any special type of establish that is needed to bring in it happen express?

Answers: If you are buying or selling a simple stock using a market command, 100 shares of McDonalds, for example, it takes second at most. But if you are selling a mutual fund it can take several days if you place it on a Friday after open market close, for example. If you are placing a limit direct you have to loaf for the conditions of the limit decree to be met.
Takes about as long as it take to go to check writ status. Actually the status sometimes comes right back next to the price. My guess about 2 second. Yes a market demand. Not a limit charge.

There is one thing I forgot to mention. That is assuming their internet site is functioning. It be not functioning too well today. Not ample capacity to pedal all the traffic.
Depends on the Price Per Share. Now consent to say if the stock is selling at $12 and you put a buy establish of $10..Its gonna fill when it reach $10. But if you buy a stock at the ask price it should fill instantly.

Answers: So you're looking for stocks that are going to be "runners"...
if you use them you own to be watchful... because sometimes as quickly as they run up, they fall contained by a few days.
Here are some that have made big moves contained by the past 6 months or so but are down right presently...CSUN ...SOLF, both Chinese solar plays. Then there are some " shippers" DRYS, EGLE, TBSI...of those three the one that " moves" the most is TBSI. With Spring coming on in that are about three little " refiners" that may do ably in the subsequent two months ( does the contest last that long?) WNR, FTO, and ALJ
One other stock that make big moves is the Argentinian version of E-bay, the symbol is MELI..( I own it contained by real go and it's up for me...and still has some big up days)
...and another stock that have the " potential " to move up ( try it for a week or ten days) is EMC. It should move, it should...but it just hasn't however!!
You already found out "stock tips" aren't really tips at all, are they? Of course not.

To do successful trades, you enjoy to have your own set of trading rules.

I'm going to share beside you some of my trading rules.

I can tell you 70+ member of our trading group can't be wrong. We follow our own sets of trading rules. Whether or not you'll use them is another matter. I'll also include some trading sayings.

A] "On Wall Street within aren't any gifts."
No one gives anyone else anything - not even stock tips.

B] Bulls [Buyers] earn money.
Bears [Sellers] earn money.
Pigs win fat.
Hogs [Greedy Traders] catch slaughtered. they lose the money in their trading accounts.

C] Here's what not a soul in the trading won't do:
1] We WILL NOT trade "cheap" [inexpensive] stocks. We will not trade .BB [dot BB, which is the Bulletin Board],
.PK [dot PK, which is the Pink Sheet]
O-T-C [Over-the-Counter].
The above stocks are far too risky and volatile.
2] We WILL NOT trade any stock which trades smaller quantity than $26.51 per share. We do not want to be part of any "pity party".
3] We WILL NOT trade any stock which have less than 400,000 shares/volume per afternoon. Volume less than this make the stock too risky and volatile for the retail trader. Those traders with deeper pockets [having more money] can trade stocks next to less volume.
4] We WILL NOT trade any IPOs [Initial Public Offerings]. These stocks do not own any history to follow. They are far too risky.
5] We WILL NOT trade any stock with smaller amount than 18 months of trading history.
6] We WILL NOT trade against the trend.
7a] We WILL NOT trade any stock betwen the price of $45.01 to $55.51 up OR down. Stocks in this continuum are known as "the doldrums" - they enjoy a tendency to take stuck and not move.
7b] We WILL NOT trade any stock from $73.01 to $76.51 another "doldrum range".
7c] We WILL NOT trade any stock from $94.01 to $106.51 - yet another "doldrum range".

D1] When we do our research, we check the following: The Earnings Announcement Date. This happen 4 times each year, roughly every 3 months. Different stocks have different EADs.
D2] We check for stock splits.
D3] We check the sector and the industry. We check for the trend surrounded by that stock's sector.
D4] We ALWAYS check the news for respectively stock.

F] When ALL the criteria and rules are met, Plan your trade. THEN trade your plan.
When you know the proper strategies, know how to use them AND you follow your rules, you can earn money when the stock goes up.
You can earn money when the stock go down,
You can earn money when the stock goes sideways.
USUALLY numbers within the stock market are expressed within percentages and contained by dollars and cents.
Here's an example:
ABC is currently at $27.50 per share.
You did your investigating and research. This stock passed ALL your rules.
You have your entry at $27.78 or 1% to prove the stock's trend.
Your target is $30.56 or 10%
IF the trade should be in motion against you and you lose money, you will get out of the trade at $25.56 or 8%. This is so you can trade another daytime.

As a foot note: We DO NOT put any more than 15% of our total trading sketch balance within any one trade. If our balance is $10,000 we do not put any more than $1,500 into any trade. Our entry is $27,78. We can buy 50 shares of ABC. For some pretext or another, brokerrs and others like rounded bad numbers of shares.
