Whit is the difference between Open Ended ELSS & Close Ended ELSS?
Answers: Open Ended Scheme :- An investor can enter and exit these schemes at any time.
Close Ended Schemes:- These schemes take investments only during NFO period after which they are closed for new investments. If u wish to exit these schemes before the scheme becomes open ended, then a heavy exit load is usually levied.
Normally there are no entry loads in Close ended schemes.
ELSS Schemes:- These schemes are more like the open ended schemes. You can invest at any point of time. There is a lock in period of 3 years after which you can withdraw your money.
You can avail of an income tax exemption under section 80C if u invest in ELSS schemes.

Close ended means you cannot redeem your units before a certain period of time called the lock in period. In summary, you can not move out of your investment till the lock in period is over.
