What happen when a ridge reports a charge?
I see in the papers greatly of big banks are reporting a "charge" for several base. Does this mean they are reporing a loss of income, network worth, book value or what?(JK: the sandbank should charge no more than 25 cents per quarter)
Answers: It means they own incurred a debt through business activity and want to set aside a chunk of revenue to pay it. So not long banks hold reported a charge for US sub prime exposure. That means that when the time comes to multiply their financial position at the end of the quarter they add their exposure to sub prime exposure at $x billion and annouve that as a charge. It is equivalent to a loss of income, or reduction within net worth and book worth.
Its the interest rate that bank charge when they lend money to any individual or any company. Every country have its own Central Bank which sets the Interest Rate.
