ETFC - Is it a well brought-up buy in a minute?
Is ETFC a good buy immediately? Do you think it can dance up even a little bit from its position?Answers: This is a grill that is even stumping some of wall street's top investors. Jim cramer couldnt bequeath a straight forward answer today. He said maybe it will weather this storm and travel back up and conceivably not. However, wall street is 50/50 right now and i am siding beside the bullish people. I believe it is a buy. Yes, they do enjoy a toxic portfolio but if you research their financials, it looks like they will echo. B of A will gobble up CFC and this sub prime mess with be over next to sooner or later. ETFC is cheap, buy it.
It might travel up, especially with Bank of America rumoring to be scooping up Countrywide.
However, in that are probably safer places to place your money. If recession continues, consumer staples with worldwide presence like Coca Cola and Proctor and Gamble look to be solid buys.

Stock is a financial tool to raise cash by companies.
One day a company decides to go "public", so they print up a bunch of stock certificates and announce them for sell...this is called an Initial Public Offering (IPO). They guess at a price and sooner or later people come along and buy one or more stock certificates. Business gets the cash.
Yes, you gain ownership with each stock, but in all practical purposes, no you don't get ownership.
What happens to the price after that is determined by lots of factors but mostly by public opinion. Sort of like baseball cards - is a rookie Babe Ruth really worth hundreds of thousands of dollars...or is it really just a piece of cardboard?
If a company decide spinning past its sell-by date and book one of its core businesses, how does it affect the biggest stock?
If a company decides spinning stale and listing one of its core businesses, how does it affect the most important stock and the IPO? What's the benefit?Answers: Stock of the parent company will probably increase as they are more focused and easier to value.
