You will need your parents permission, and they will have to be co-trustees with the bank, but as long as they all agree, you can manage your shares as you see fit with the bank acting as the operative trustee. There will be limitations, each bank and state have rules about managing a trust account in this manner, but your bank will know the particulars.
The cons are that sometimes banks managers do not allow young people to have as ready access, meanign that you will not be able to withdraw unless your parents co-sign a document, and that can hamper your ability to trade in large blocks, but generally you will find that banks enjoyo managing these types of funds.BUT OF COURSE THEY WILL CHARGE YOU A FEE. There might be large trading firms that are willing to do the same type of thing, I would contact Merrill-Lynch and ask them.
