How do I find TIPS on yahoo finance?

Answers: They may not have information on TIPS at Yahoo finance. Here is a site that does.

One very bad aspect of TIPS to be aware of is the tax consequences. You are taxed on the inflation adjustment annually although you do not receive it until the bonds come due. Talk about getting the shaft. A much better alternative tax wise are the I bonds similar to TIPS but not taxed until cashed in.

Here it explains the tax implications of TIPS.

There are other difference between TIPS and I Bonds. TIPS interest rate is set by auction ie supply and demand. I bonds interest rate is arbitrarily set by the treasury department. Also TIPS can be sold in the after market I bonds can not.

Important query roughly stocks...?

I am buying and selling stocks from an online website (zecco.com). SO far this year I have singular lost money ($500 altogether). I'm hoping to eventually start making money back. As far as paying taxes on my gain at the end of the year (supposing I closing up gaining more than I lose).. how does that work?? will they look at what I've lost and what I've gain and subtract fro that and take the total amount and levy that.. or will they not even consider the amount I lost and just toll my gains?? Please assist me out here. Thanks!

Answers: You add up adjectives your realized losses and gain.if it's a profit, then you hold a capital gain....if you lost money overall, after you have a assets loss.
