How do you get the 15% withholding tax back when you received dividend from US stock? I am a Canadian citizen?
Answers: I am not familiar with Canadian tax law but in the U S you can claim a credit against your U S taxes for taxes paid in foreign countries.
You do not quite get it back but when you file your income tax return you have to declare the income as your are a Canadian resident. However, there is a section where you are given credit for withholding taxes paid to foreign governments.
The net effect then is you have paid less tax in Canada
If the stock marketplace continues to crash, do you have an idea that the Fed Res will eventually.....?
cut the interest rate to 0%? Or even -0%? How low can they go?Answers: Who's going to buy the transcript with a nil interest rate? No investor is that stupid. We're already a bad investment to foreign money because our interest rates are lower than what they can gain elsewhere. Top that off near a declining dollar, and it's a refusal return on investment.
no interest? free money? lol
no that will never happen
What will today's cut of interest rates by the Federal Reserve do to future bank CD rates?
Answers: Bank CD's are a horrible place to keep your money. You can get similar rates without even tying up your savings. Simply open an online savings account and link it to your regular bank account. You can transfer money back and forth and most only require $1 to open one. Most don't charge fees either. I think the best one is Etrade's complete savings account but HSBCdirect.com is good too.
all rate will be lowed unless it's locked or fixed.
mortage rate will drop now too
so is your money market rate and saving rate
well they have announced a cut of 75 basic points( surprising)
which will ultimately bring the money into the stock market and hence will bring bak the lost momentum.
Asian market too will recover as it is mostly governed by FIIs.
