Reallocate my 401k very soon?
Should I reallocate my 401k to be more aggressive (mostly stocks) NOW or hang about until the economy have picked back up?Answers: This adjectives depends on your time horizon. If you have 10 years or more, your portfolio should be predominantly stocks, if 100%. If your time horizon isn't that long, it should be a mix of stocks and bonds. Please do not try to predict what the market is going to do. Don't acquire greedy and put too much of your money in stocks if you don't own a long term time horizon. Also, don't grasp scared and verbs you money out of the market when things appear to be dimness and doom. None of us are psychics. Get an asset allocation based on your time horizon and risk tolerance and stay the course. Rebalance quarterly. Don't gain greedy and don't get worried. You are not a psychic and neither am I. Rule of thumb is to reorder once at the end of the year. That allows your winner to run. Usually, funds perform differently at the start of a contemporary year which is why this works so well.
Related to your aggressive growth funds, in a minute is NOT a good time. We are surrounded by a BEAR MARKET. This country has some serious problems ahead beside baby boomers creating a NET DISTRIBUTION of their 401K over the subsequent 20 years. Boomers will no longer be able to use their homes as ATMs, so this tolerate market could be much worse than 2000-2002. I expect it to be similar to the Nikkei. If you dollar averaged into the Nikkei every year since 1990, you would still be in the Red. The Nikkei is still down over 60% from its giant in 1989!! A buy and hold investor would hold been KILLED, especially an aggressive one. Americans hold not witnessed anything like that YET... but we will because the boomers own not been in your favour enough.

A power crisis is a temporary blip. It does not effect the long-term spending of the consumer. The market should continue trending in the same direction as before the power crisis occurred.
