Any chance e*trade is coming back ? Its pe is really low. Are there more write offs coming ?

Answers: Forget the pe. They are loosing money currently. Probably there will be more write offs. They are also loosing customers. TD Ameritrade looked at their books and said no thanks to a bail out. That is something we have not seen. The company screwed up big time trying squeeze out a little extra income just as Citicorp and Lynch. Unfortunately, e*trade has not any deep pockets. Probably only a matter of time.
The stock market is down right now. World markets are down in general. I suggest that you follow the market and the sectors more closely, day by day. One good resource is http://www.federalreserve.ws which contains a lot of information about markets, economics, and finance.
