If you are in a dignified tax bracket you may prefer their toll exempt money market funds:

They also enjoy some nice bond funds:

Sometimes other institutions will have a high teaser rate, but Vanguard tends to enjoy the highest yield I've found over the long run. (Vanguard money markets are not FDIC insured, however.)

ING and HSBC normally have rates close to Vanguard, and most of their products are FDIC insured. Bankrate.com provides links to CD's next to high interest rates as economically as high interest rate bank. You can check these at the following links:

Is nearby any publication that explains how the stock open market works?

Answers: Chapters 13 through 16 of my free downloadable book ( http://www.invest-for-retirement.com ) should bestow you a basic introduction. It is explained within terms that beginners can deduce. And, if you don't like the book (and several of my coworkers did not), then delete it. You reimburse nothing.

Your momma be wrong. Sometimes you DO get something for nil.
