How do u pick a good stock?
Answers: My mom is a stock broker and I myself place at an Internation competition for the stock market. So listen to me on this, watch to see if the companies growth is sufficient. You can tell this by looking at the stock graph for the company from over 10 years or so, this will help you not only to determine if the growth is sufficient but also if the stock is cyclogical. If it is cycological, determine when is an appropreiate time to buy and sell the stock. Also pay attention not only to the company itself but also to the market in general, this will help you figure out declines and strikes and overall give you the basic knowledge you need to be a desent invester with a porfolio with an exellent ROI(return on investment). The market is low right now it would be a great time to start investing.
Just for a head start some good stocks are MA, SBUX, MSFT, SNE, NKE, FDX, PEP, XOM....and visa got the IPO and should be hitting the market soon.
PS: I highly recommend you read the book 100 best stocks you can buy:2008 by John Slatter, CFA
It is said that there are no good stocks. The above answer is the rational answer. But they have a perverse tendency to change course abruptly and wipe you out. If you are 'investing' pick a company that has items that you like. If you are speculating, whatever you buy, try to protect it at all costs. Stops or puts, same if you sell short or puts. Otherwise, you will lose fast. Read the book by Wm O'Neil and his CANSLIM method. His newspaper 'IBD' is loaded with advice and tips.
Almost every noted trader that writes books on the subject says that they lost every thing early in their career. It takes a severe shock like that to make you concentrate on the subject. And to make you extremely cautious.
The challenge is exhilarating, and consuming. And easy to get into nowadays with the computer and internet brokers.
I would go with the fairly simple Warren Buffet strategy for stock picking. The approach is practical and makes perfect sense on the long run. You should be able to find this online someplace.
I want to invest up to 2000 pounds surrounded by UK, what to do?
Investment funds or bonds...Im looking for advice so pls communicate me about firms as very wellAnswers: My favourite firm at the moment is Zopa.com. They're a lend and borrowing exchange that cuts out the banks and let individuals borrow money directly from investors, so the investors get to choose their own interest rates. I'm currently getting between 7%-11% pa, which is better than any reserves account.
There's an tender on at the moment, where if you apply via the following relationship you get a complimentary lb30 when you lend out more than lb500.
www.zopa.com/member/The%20Hulk
So if you invest lb500, they'll administer you 6% up front, and then foot you around 7%-11% on top of that! So if you put adjectives your lb2000 in, unhappily you won't get 6%, it appears you'll one and only get lb30 still, so that's 1.5% up front. But who would utter "No!" to lb30? Follow the link, own a read about it, and see what you expect. I've been unbelievably happy near it so far.
Hope this helps!

Answers: NTPC is a good bet to invest. Even when the prices be around 270-280 before the crash, ancestors used to recommend for buying. NTPC has get a good writ book.
I think Reliance power will not own a -ve impact on NTPC. In fact near rel power coming, the frenzy for power stocks increases, and may move NTPC upper and upper. Anyways NTPC is fundamentally a good bet
ntpc is a obedient bet . and reliance power cannot impact the ntpc. ntpc is a existing player with projects and rel power is have only projects next to out any running business.
