Any one tried Motley Fool and they good as they claim to be?

Answers: Motley Fool does TRY to present both sides of the story most of the time. I personally find them trying a bit too hard to push their subscription products.

For researching individual stocks, check out CAPS---it's contributed entirely by users. Many stocks have a "bull" pitch and a "bear" pitch to give you both the buy and the sell side of the story.
I do not like how these financial newsletters entice readers with ridiculous claims. They border on dishonest.

The Motley Fool is not one of these dishonest ones. It seems to be very straight forward.

Why is there a cycle of recession and growth?

Answers: 1st off, the person posing the question wasn't suggesting there is a recession. That wasn't their question.
2nd off, whether there is a recession at the moment depends on the country we each live in. It's probable that somewhere in the world at any point in time there is a country in a recession.
3rd off - to answer the original posters question - the reason behind the cycle of recession and growth is the reaction of human nature in a free market environment. People get over confident in their financial situation and splash out. People then realise that maybe they've over-extended themselves and try to conserve funds. Imagine a lot of people doing the same thing (either splashing out or counting their pennies), and imagine businesses doing the same thing, at the same time and you have the classic boom & bust cycle in a nutshell. That's a fairly simplistic answer though.
first off i just gotta say we are not in a recession. we havent met that criteria and people need to stop saying we are.
