lets say-so i bought one $50 stock from apple inc. the next morning it drops to $45.what if i dont bail out on the stock and just hang about for it and the next light of day it rises back passageway up? does my $45 turn into lets read aloud $54 if the stock goes up?

Answers: Yes that would be correct.
If you buy today at $45, and latter that day Apple announces a brand new product the next afternoon the stock may very in good health jump up to read out $54.
But then the daytime after that, Apple releases some financial statements that look gloomy, the stock is promising to fall.

If it go up $10 from your inital purchase price, that's how much value the stock have.
If it was down $10 from your purchase price, subtract that $10 from the purchase price to see how much you've lost.
Buy at $50 and it go down to $45 - you've lost $5 on your investment.
The next sunshine it goes up to $60 - you've made $10 on your investment.
